Calling Out Closer

Free music today from Calling Out Closer The Parallel EP B-SidesCalling Out Closer, an indie Christian band from Pennsylvania.  They released The Parallel EP in December of last year, and for New Year’s they uploaded two of the b-sides from that EP to their website as a free download.  The songs amount to an acoustic version of “Broken Still” from COC’s debut album Stars and Broken Hearts & an instrumental demo version of “The Difference Between Fantasies” from their new EP, both of which are definitely decent songs, especially considering they’re both b-sides.  What do you think of them?

The Weekly Downloads: Mar. 9 ~ Mar. 15

I was pretty excited Tuesday morning when I logged into New Release Tuesday, and saw not one but two downloads, Sanctus Real’s “Forgiven” and Passion’s “Our God”.  I haven’t had a chance to listen to “Our God” yet, but “Forgiven” is Sanctus Real’s latest single & a downright amazing song, so if you ask me, it’s a must-get.  Enjoy!

Also sporting two trendy new downloads this week is iTickets, with Robbie Seay Band’s “Miracle” and Carlos Whittaker’s “Rain It Down”.

Next up is a download from Addison Road, courtesy of FreeCCM – this is either the fourth or fifth free song I’ve gotten from their self-titled debut.

-Addison Road “Start Over Again” on FreeCCM-

Wrapping up this week’s batch of downloads is Stellar Kart’s “Everything Is Different Now” on Tangle.com.  Since that song is already available from at least two different websites it’s not all that exciting to see it available again, but what is exciting is the fact that Tangle’s updated their website, which will hopefully mean more free tunes from their each week.

-Tangle.com-

That’s it for this week, and by the way, you may have noticed I’ve been trying to keep these a bit shorter then I used to.  That’s because most of the downloads are often available elsewhere, and I’d rather be working on something that many of you don’t already have.  That said, hang on, because there’s a lot more new music coming soon.  :)

Newsboys “Born Again” Free Download

Newsboys Born AgainIt’s true!  You can snag a free download of “Born Again” from a widget on Newsboys.com, by merely filling in your name and email address.

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past half year or so, Born Again is the title track from the Newsboys’ latest album, which is also the first album the Newsboys have released since Michael Tait stepped up as lead singer for the group.  I’ll be honest, it’s a different sound, different, but still good.  Check it out!

New Songs Available On AmazonMP3

AmazonMP3 has been adding loads of free mp3s lately, including several by Christian artists, namely, Before Their Eyes, Chasen, and Stellar Kart.

From Stellar Kart, we have the title track from their brand new album Everything Is Different Now, which is also available on FreeCCM.

-Stellar Kart “Everything Is Different Now” on AmazonMP3-

From Chasen, a great song & one of my favorites from them, “Eyes of A Rescue”, also available from FreeCCM.

-Chasen “Eyes Of A Rescue” on AmazonMP3-

And, lastly, the latest single and very cool song “Sing To Me” from Before Their Eyes, from the band’s latest Untouchable.  I like this one a lot.

-Before Their Eyes “Sing To Me” on AmazonMP3-

I’d recommend picking up all three if you’re able.  Also, those three are in addition to the many Christian songs already available on AmazonMP3, like BarlowGirl’s “Hello Sunshine”, Big Daddy Weave’ “In Christ”, Rachel Lampa’s “You Lift Me Up”, and Jaci Velasquez’s “Adore”, plus more besides.  Enjoy!

Free Sampler from Cindy Morgan

Cindy Morgan Beautiful BirdFree music today from Cindy Morgan, who you may recognize as the songwriter behind songs like  “How You Live (Turn Up The Music)” and “Wishes”, both of which were recorded by Point of Grace.

Anyway, you can download 5 of her songs, “Beautiful Bird”, “Fine”, “When It’s Love”, “Lion and the Lamb”, and “In These Rooms”, for free from NoiseTrade.  All 5 are from her album Beautiful Bird.

To make the deal even sweeter, NoiseTrade recently update their website, making it possible to download free music by just providing your email address and zip code, rather then having to either email five friends or pay-what-you-want for the album.  Personally, I’m excited about the new system, since it means I can download music and then, if I like it, recommend it, rather then recommending it and then downloading it.  Anyway, check it out!

Don’t Blink

Free music today from Revive!  The band is giving away their brand new single, “Blink”, for free through their website.  It’s a good song, quite a bit slower then “Chorus of the Saints”, but still very solid.  Incidentally, “Blink” is also the title track to the new album from Revive, due out June 22.  Enjoy!

The Weekly Downloads: Mar. 2 ~ Mar. 8

First up this week, New Release Tuesday has not one but two cool new downloads, from Pocket Full of Rocks, and Satellites & Sirens.  The songs are “Jesus Died My Soul To Save” and “Anchor”, respectively.  “Jesus Died My Soul To Save” actually has a bit of a folk/country vibe, while “Anchor” is a pop/rock jam, but their both pretty good.

-NRT’s Free Music Page-

Next, iTickets has a free download of “Revolution”, from Bryon “Mr. Talkbox” Chambers.  That’s the same Mr. Talkbox from TobyMac’s Portable Sounds, to give just one example of his work.  “Revolution” is from Bryon’s new solo album, My Time.

-iTickets’ Free Music Page-

Another new song available this week is Karima Kibble’s song “So Happy”, from GMC.  In fact, the music video for “So Happy” has been doing quite well on the GMC charts, where’s currently residing at #5, beating Switchfoot by one.

Rounding out this week’s line-up is “Be Mine”, from VOTA – you can snag the mp3 of that from FreeCCM.

Free Song from Tim Be Told

Tim Be Told From The InsideFree music today from Tim Be Told! They’re a Christian soul/pop/rock band from Charlottesville, VA, and you can pick on their song “Analyze” for free from their MySpace page (or, if you’d rather, you can also pick up the same song from their website & Facebook page).

It’s actually quite a good song, soft indie piano rock, along the lines of The Fray, with maybe a little bit of FM Static’s slower songs thrown in for good measure.  Regardless, it sounds good – I’d love to hear what the band would sound like with some professional production.  Check it out!
