3 of the Downsides of Free Music

1. Disappointment. Yesterday, I discovered that August Burns Red had allowed fans to download “Carol of the Bells” from their Myspace page for free on Christmas day. I was soo disappointed. I love that song! And I missed it! When you’re looking for music online, you are certain to be disappointed at some point. Maybe it’ll be a My Free Music Friday you’ll forget about, or a free song you are a day late for, or maybe even a download that doesn’t work. The best thing to do is to learn from your mistake and don’t get yourself down.

2. Mp3 Player to Small. Sooner or later, you are going to run out of storage space on your Mp3 player. You’ll just have too many songs. The only ways to solve this problem, in my experience, is to (a) see if your Mp3 player has an expansion slot for extra space, (b) put a new Mp3 player on your Christmas list, or (c) live with it. I’ve done all of three.

3. You Love too Much Music. This is something I have a problem with. I have 163 different artists in my music library! And I like them all! I can listen to a nice worship song, then go to a screaming hardcore track, to rap, to punk, to electronic, to pop, and enjoy all of it. Actually, this is only really a problem when you’re trying to decide what to put on your Christmas list. Eventually, you’ll will probably end up with many, many favorite artists.

  5. I know. The Paul Wright downloads never arrived for me. Did anyone else not get them?

Thanks for the offer, and though I really like to have the song, I’m going to decline. I’m not sure it would be totally legit, and I’d rather not have a song then steal. Thanks anyway though!
