Free Music from Michael McRay
Today I have two free songs for you that are not rock, not rap, not metal, and not electronic. Real music, by my mother’s standard.
Pianist Michael McRay has two songs available for free on download on his GarageBand. The songs (“Second Chance” and “If She Would Sing”) are from Michael’s CD Second Chance. To access the songs you need to click on the song title on the right, wait for the next page to come up, then click the “Download MP3″ button in the center of the screen.
Free Starflyer 59 Song
First: I fixed the Myspace link. The correct link is: here.
Second: Starflyer 59 is giving away their song “Wake Up Early” on their Purevolume. It’s an older song, from the CD I Am the Portuguese Blues. I have no idea why the CD is called that, but I do know the song is pretty cool.
Be My Friend?
I am pleased to announce that The Free Christian Music Blog has officially moved into the social networking world. I am just finishing up on my MySpace and Purevolume profiles. I would really appreciate you adding me as a friend. It’s would really help spread the word about free music.
Free Christian Hardcore from MyChildren MyBride
One of many new CD’s this week, MyChildren MyBride released their new CD Unbreakable. While you can’t get Unbreakable free, you can download 9 other MyChildren MyBride songs, free, at Last.fm.
Eight of the songs are from the bands independent record Having the Heart For Way. With the exception of one song, you can download the entire CD. Now that’s cool.
The other one song, “Waves of Oppression”, is part of the Demo 2006 disk. It’s also free, so if you haven’t your recommend daily allowance of Christian hardcore yet, check out MyChildren MyBride.
Children 18:3 Free Download
Children 18:3 is doing well. They’ve had quite a few positive reviews for their new CD Children 18:3, they’ve had a song (“You Know We’re All So Fond of Dying”) go number one on Radio U, they’ve filmed a music video for “All My Balloons”, and they gave away their song “LCM” on AbsolutePunk.
Now the Minnesota home schoolers are giving away yet another song, “Homemade Valentine”. The song is available free on the band’s Purevolume profile. Good stuff.
Project 86 Mp3, Social Network Poll
Project 86 is giving away their song “Spy Hunter” on their Purevolume page. Musically, the song is tight. Lyrically, however, there’s nothing to indicate it’s a Christian song. Basically, it’s hunting for a spy. Actually, I take that back. The very last line is “I need truth!”. Either way you look at it, it’s free.

New HearItFirst Downloads
A while back I mentioned a sampler from HearItFirst.com which was featuring artists from the Winter Jam Tour. Now they’ve changed the line up, and updated it with new songs. The new version has songs from Britt Nicole, Todd Agnew, Neworldson, Josh Wilson, Shawn McDonald. Some of the songs are new, other aren’t. Still, it’s worth checking out.
Free Music from Jonny Diaz, Sanctus Real Concert
Free Christian music today from Jonny Diaz. He actually has two songs available on the Gospel Music Channel’s website. The songs, “You Are A Storm” and “Hold Me”, are both from Jonny’s independent third CD, They Need Love. Just make sure you scroll down the page.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to see Sanctus Real perform live. Due to weather-related circumstances, they had to play acoustic. Despite the setbacks it was an awesome show. I came home with both the groups latest CD We Need Each Other and Fight the Tide. Both excellent. Pick them up if you have the chance.
Oh, and if you happen to own a copy of We Need Each Other, make sure you look at the back closely. It just might mention how you can download two exclusive songs. Check it out!
Four Live The Showdown Songs
The Showdown recently posted four live songs on their Myspace. All four are download-able. The songs (“Iscariot”, “Hell Can’t Stop Us Now”, “From The Mouth of Gath Comes Terror”, and “A Monument Encased in Ash”) are all live versions of songs from the Showdown’s first CD, A Chorus of Obliteration. If you like metal, you’d should really check these guys out.
Family Force 5 "Never Let Me Go"
As promised, here’s my review of Family Force 5’s newest music video, “Never Let Me Go”, which debuted yesterday on TVU Music Television:To be totally honest, when the video ended, I was disappointed. Before you stop reading, let me explain. I was expecting something like “Love Addict” or “Kountry Gentleman”. You know, raw crunk-rock. The animal-headed-humanoids just wasn’t what I was expecting.
However, since yesterday, I’ve decided that the video really was pretty cool. The song is one of my all-time favorites, the funky camera trick was pretty cool, and what I thought was a deep moral point was really Family Force 5 being their usual random selves. And the last last twenty seconds are just awesome. All told, I’d give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
Now that you know what I think, it’s time for you to tell me what you thought. Please, leave a comment with your 2 cents. Tell me I’m wrong. Tell me it’s “2 kwl and ff5 = g8t”. Just say something!
