Free Children 18:3 Song
Phrases like Christians, Home-schoolers, siblings, rockers, Gothic-looking, and Minnesotan can all be applied nicely to a lot of bands. But there’s only one band that’s all 6 at the same time. That band is Children 18:3.
Children 18:3 is offering their new song “LCM” as a free download over at AbsolutePunk.net. The song is from their brand new self-titled CD, and is a bit hard to describe. Not as catchy as “You Know We’re All So Fond of Dying”. But still, it’s a good song.
(And if you can’t get enough Children 18:3, you can check out another free song from them here!)
FreeFuge.com, New Music Video from Family Force 5
Free music from FreeFuge.com today. They have a page on their website specially for free music, and to be blunt, it’s awesome. It looks like the selection is a mix of songs from FreeGotee.com and FreeMvS.com, with a little Sparrow Records thrown in. Of course, that’s not saying much unless you know which bands are on which labels. So, I’ll explain the selection.
It feature’s Ayiesha Woods’ “Happy”, Bethany Dillon’s “Top of the World”, Britt Nicole’s current single “Set The World On Fire”, Family Force 5′s “Supersonic”, John Reuben’s catchy “Good Evening”, Relient K’s “More Than Useless”, Sanctus Real’s number one hit “Don’t Give Up”, the southern rock “Temptation Come My Way” from The Showdown. Also featured is This Beautiful Republic’s new single “Casting Off”, Vicky Beeching, and Tim Hughes. (Oh, and they also have Chasing Victory listed, but the download doesn’t work.)
As you can see, that’s quite a selection. All of the songs are free and legal downloads. So enjoy!
Valentine’s Special – Nate Huss Gets Married, Free Music
Well, today’s Valentine’s Day. A day of romance, roses, and chocolate. So far, I’ve been enjoying the chocolate and some great music. But first, because it is Valentine’s Day, I have the story of Nate Huss’s proposal to his wife Emily:
“Emily has a mountain that’s been her favorite place since junior high school to just go everyday and think and pray. I flew back home to Phoenix after playing some concerts without her knowing I was coming. I surprised her by meeting her at the mountain—I had scattered rose petals up the path and I was waiting at the top—dressed in my best black suit with roses and the ring.”
Now for the music. Both Lanae’ Hale and Nate Huss have free, V-Day only songs available today. Lanae’ Hale’s is on Jesus Freak Hideout, on the special downloads page. It’s an interesting song. Lanae’ Hale has a different style. I can’t put my finger on it. Worth checking out. After all, it’s free!
5 Sites: If You’re Not Signed-Up, You’re Missing Out
Over the years I’ve come across quite a few good sites with free and legal Christian music, but occasionally, I’ve found some great sites. Sites you have to join access. And it’s worth it. This is a list of my favorite members-only free music sites.
(It will probable be changed from time to time, so be sure to bookmark this page!)
5. MySpace.com – Despite user security issues, if you want to access the music stored on MySpace, you’ll need an account. Personally, I have a “junk” account that I use to download songs. Just make sure to talk to your parents about it.
4. FreeCCM.com – The only record label-run site to update it’s selection occasionally. Right now, it has music from The Afters, Addison Road, Laura Story. Previously it’s had Skillet, Disciple, MercyMe, and more. Definitely a site to watch.
3. iTickets – Since MyFreeMusicFriday is pretty much dead, I’ve decided to replace them with new comers iTickets. They are giving away one song a week to all iTickets members. Sign-up is a pain, but after that it’s easy to get the music, lyrics, and concert info.
2. The Free Christian Music Blog – Umm, this is a bit awkward, but even if I didn’t run it, I would still recommend it. I usually post once daily, with any style of music possible. Sign-up box is on the right at the top of the page.
1. HearItFirst.com – One of the oldest and best site for Christian music. You have got to sign-up for the mailing list. Once a week they’ll send you a free song to your inbox. I just got Sanctus Real’s “We Need Each Other” free, just for being a member. Admittedly, the website is confusing, but in this case the pros (music) out weight the cons (annoyances).
Song Combat Results
Boy, was that a close race. I thought Dizmas might take it for quite a while there…
But there can only be one winner. And that winner is Roper. Thanks for voting!
Roper was the side project of Reese Roper, former lead-singer of Five Iron Frenzy. It was a bit short lived, but did release on CD, Brace Yourself for the Mediocre. This song is from that CD. It’s a fast-paced praise rock song. Lots of fun.
Song Combat (Round 2)
Dizmas – “Revolution”
vs.
Roper – “Amplify”
New Music from P.O.D.
This just in: P.O.D. is giving away the title track to their new CD, When Angels and Serpents Dance. I only just got it myself, but it’s really cool. The download link is at the top-left corner of the page. Kind of hard to see. Anyway enjoy your music.
Hawk Nelson Typo and Free Music from Charlie Hall
I think this is a typo:
[Name removed to protect privacy], this is a confirmation that you have entered the Hawk Nelson “Hawk Nelson Is Your Friend” Contest. If you are a winner, we will inform you via email after the contest closes on January 25th, 2010. Thanks.
LOL, that’s a long contest… (Thanks for sending this in!)
Aside from that, I do have some music for you. It’s from Charlie Hall, from the latest Passion record, and is called “Walk of the World”, and let me tell you, it’s popped up everywhere. To coin a phrase, it’s “Fringle”
–”Fringle“: A free song sent to several different sites, much like a single is sent to radio stations. A combination of the words “free” and “single”.
Like I said, you can download the song in many places. Jesusfreakhideout.com is just one of several, but it’s my favorite, so here you go:
Song Downloads from Jamie Rowe
Anyone ever heard of Guardian? If you have, you’re probably familiar with Jamie Rowe, even if you didn’t know it. Jamie was the lead vocalist for Guardian. Interestingly enough, though Guardian was a heavy rock band, Jamie’s solo project is pretty mellow compared to it. It sounds like the perfect music for a car trip with the windows down… I digress.
Anyway, Jamie has two songs available for free at his Purevolume. The first is called “The Bumper Sticker Song”. The second is “The Bumper Sticker Song” in Spanish. So if you speak Spanish, rock on. If you don’t, go with the English version. And if you speak Russian you are out of luck.
Free Music From Staple
Free music today from the Christian hardcore-metal band Staple. They have one free song available on their Purevolume. It’s called “Dictatorship vs. Democracy” (sometimes “DvD”). It’s an awesome song. I can’t get enough. Rock on!
