Free Music from Gotee Records
I’ve got some sweet downloads today from a whole slew of artists on Gotee Records. Gotee.com just got a whole new free download section of the site. They actually added the new features a week or two ago, but because of technical issues, no one was able to sign in to download the songs.
Thankfully, they were able to find and fix the problem and now, all 8 downloads should work just fine. They actually have one download from every artist on Gotee (Relient K, I Am Terrified, House of Heroes, John Reuben, etc) except for Flynn Adam, who just signed.
The cool part is that you can use the same email and password from FreeGotee.com on Gotee.com – very convient. Plus, it’s free music, and almost all of it is extremely good. What do you have to lose?
3 Weekly Downloads, Plus J.S. Album Drops
This week, I thought I would save sometime and just write up all three weekly downloads at the same time, thus giving myself more freedom later in the week. The result:
- Weekly Download #1: 20 The Countdown Magazine has added a brand new song by the band Fee! It’s called “All Creation Sings (Joy to The World)”, and looks decidedly Christmas-y. For the download, look in the left sidebar. The download is the top banner.
- Weekly Download #2: Gospel Music Channel has got a free download this week from Attaboy, a group I’ve never heard before. In my opinion, they sounds a lot like Rush of Fools. Grab their song “Califoria”, below.
- Weekly Download #3: iTicket’s has added not one, not two, but THREE free songs to their website for the week. They’re got songs by This Beautiful Republic, Parachute Band, and Jim Brickman. Enjoy!
Andy Hunter: Expelled Music Maker
Free music today from Christian electronic/trance artist Andy Hunter. If you’ve been following this site for awhile, you might remember last May when I wrote that Andy Hunter helped write the soundtrack to Ben Stein’s Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (plus, I also mentioned another free download…).
The reason I bring that up is because the Expelled website has 6 free downloads from Andy Hunter, 3 from the movie soundtrack, and three from his latest CD Colour. The songs are “Out of Control”, “Technicolor”, “Stars”, “Investigation”, “Darwin”, and “Academy”. I’m a big fan of Andy’s, and though I haven’t had a chance to hear all of the songs yet, I’m sure they’re all worth downloading.
Anyway, to download the songs, click “Listen and Download” and then click “Download MP3 File”. Enjoy!

Blogger Moves, Poll Results, and Last.fm
A couple of announcements:
1. I’ve finally getting settled in after moving, and getting over my sore muscles (a unfortunate side effect of lifting heavy objects), not to mention enjoying the new house. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and encouragement. I really do appreciate it!
2. “The Randomest Poll Ever” ended a while back, but I never got around to posting the results. I asked “This? Or That?”, and in the end 31 (66%) of voters selected “This”. There’s deep significance in that, don’t you think?
3. Also, in the last week I setup a Last.fm group for The Free Christian Music Blog. It’s got a full 4 members so far, and we need you to join us on there. If we can get at least 10 members Last.fm will enable weekly charts – very cool. The more the merrier! Check it out here.

(Source: Indie Vision Music)
There you have it, all 62 songs. That should pretty much speak for itself. It looks like hardcore/metal songs form the backbone of the sampler, but there’s enough “normal” music to make it worth while even if screaming isn’t your thing.
Now, there is one small problem. Like I said, Another Way To Fight Vol. 1 was created by a French website. So, the site is in French. Thankfully, thanks to Google’s handy Translator, the rest of us can read it too. Enjoy!
Hymns Unleased!
Free music today that’s a bit different from anything I’ve ever written about before. I have a TFCMB exclusive download of “It Is Well With My Soul” by Jesse Cardenas. It’s part of a new project called Hymns Unleashed. Here’s the scoop on the song:
“A while back, I was watching a good friend of mine, Jesse Cardenas, ripping away on his guitar. I asked him if he thought he could rearrange one of the famous old hymns that had a beautiful melody and maybe ‘spice it up a bit.’ One of my favorite’s is ‘It Is Well With My Soul.’”
There you have it. You are about to download an original electric guitar rendition of “It Is Well With My Soul”. I wasn’t sold when I first heard it, but after listening to it, I have to say I really like it. I love the old hymns, and I love guitars, so it kind of made sense to like it.
Anyways, without further ado, the download.

Also, if you enjoy that, you can check out official Hymns Unleashed blog for updates, and more. Enjoy!
Captive Mad Man Cries: Tooth & Nail’s Latest Sampler

Tooth & Nail Records have given away quite a few great samplers (see here, here, and here) and just released the huge Fuel Sampler a few months ago. Now, they’ve teamed up with Amazon.com to offer another, smaller sampler entitled Tooth & Nail Records Amazon Sampler.
The key here is quality over quantity. The sampler only has three songs, one from Haste the Day, The Becoming, and Sever Your Ties. Remember the old cliche “good things come in small packages”? Well, in this case it’s true. All three songs are amazing! The track listing:
- The Becoming – “I Cry”
- Haste The Day – “Mad Man”
- Sever Your Ties – “Captive”
“Mad Man” is Haste the Day’s first single from their latest CD Dreamer. Solid speed metal song. Both The Becoming and Sever Your Ties are fresh new bands on T&N. Both are bands to watch. “I Cry” is all about the feeling of guilt, and a plea for grace, well worth the download. Finally, my favorite song, “Captive”. I don’t even know how to begin describing it. Just know it’s good. Enjoy!

By the way, as James mentioned, there is one more sampler on the way. Look for it later in the week!
New Sampler from Indie Vision Music
Indie Vision Music has put out many, many samplers recently, and though many of them are no longer posted online, they have taken the best songs from the seven samplers (sans the heavy stuff, which might be getting its own “best of” sampler) and put them into one. What you get is free songs from Chasing Victory, Project 86, Stavesacre, Ever Stays Red, Esterlyn, and 35 other awesome bands.
I haven’t been able to listen to everything yet, as I have not only been busy but also overwhelmed with this and another even bigger sampler that all of you will probably see in the near future. You might get spoiled this week, thats all I’m saying.
-James
Edit: Apparently the wonderful people at IVM are working on another compilation that they hope to put out in time for Christmas. If you’re in a band and have a quality recording they are interested in possibly using your song in the compilation.
Free Hip-Hop from RedCloud & Kaboose

Free music today from RedCloud and Kaboose. Both artists have had songs recently added to Fuse.tv’s free music page, “Tapitio” from RedCloud and “Going Outta Control” by Kaboose.
While I haven’t heard “Going Outta Control” (yet) I can positively recommend “Tapatio”. It’s a hard hitting, yet generally fun rap about life in Hawthorne, and most importantly, Tapatio hot sauce, which, according to the site, is “the greatest hot sauce in the world”. I wouldn’t know (I haven’t tried it) but it sounds good.
And even if you don’t like hot sauce, you can still enjoy the music.
-Kaboose “Going Otta Control”-
iShine = 6 (+2) Free Songs
Free music today from several artists on the iShine Live tour. If you surf over to the iShine website, you can sign up for 6 free download from the tour, such as:

- Robert Pierre – “Breaking My Heart”
- The Rubyz – “We Got Da Beat”
- Luke Benward – “Let Your Love Out”
- Robert Pierre – “Get Up”
- The Rubyz – “Outrageous”
- Luke Benward – “Everyday Hero”
- And two instrumental tracks that don’t list an artist.
Actually, that’s eight songs, which is a a little weird. You can’t complain about bonus tracks. As you may have noticed, all iShine is definitely a tween event, not exactly my cup o’ tea, but if you enjoy Jump5, PureNRG, Miley Cyrus, or have a child or younger sibling who does, you might want to check it out.
Note: To get the downloads, you need provide your name and email address, and they’ll send a link where you can download everything at once to your inbox. Enjoy!
