There you have it, all 62 songs.  That should pretty much speak for itself.  It looks like hardcore/metal songs form the backbone of the sampler, but there’s enough “normal” music to make it worth while even if screaming isn’t your thing.

Now, there is one small problem.  Like I said, Another Way To Fight Vol. 1 was created by a French website.  So, the site is in French.  Thankfully, thanks to Google’s handy Translator, the rest of us can read it too.  Enjoy!

17 Comments to Free Massive Sampler from the French!

  1. Just so you know, Anchors is a side project from Seth of Becoming the Archetype. Not heavy at all, and also not bad.

And a few of these are French bands, most of which sing in French.

  3. wow….. a lotta songs…

    whos Becoming the Archetype?

  4. Craigsnedeker on November 22nd, 2008
  5. they’re a band on Solid State records (along with Underoath, Norma Jean, etc).

like I said, you guys were gonna get spoiled this week (though we get spoiled too, just a little bit earlier).

  6. James on November 22nd, 2008
  7. lol this is nice. I like that house of hero song, but I added it to my Mp3 and it’s not there! :O lol

  8. Craigsnedeker on November 22nd, 2008
  9. Nice find! It took me only 2 minutes to download the whole thing! Now to find some good bands I don’t yet know.

  10. Andrew on November 22nd, 2008
  11. Andrew: You just made me unbelievably jealous. 2 minutes! It’s over 400 megabytes! That’s 200 MB in a minute, or approximately 3 1/3 megabytes per second. That’s awesome! ;)

  12. Matt on November 22nd, 2008
  13. haha well I downloaded the 4 different files all at once and was getting around 2MB/s.

As for the compilation, I’m almost done listening to it. So far my favorites from bands I never listened to before are Maylene & The Sons of Disaster, La Dispute, Nitengale, Gwen Stacy and All Your Friends Are Dead (weird band name).

  14. Andrew on November 23rd, 2008
  15. This is huge (in size) Matt!!!!!!! :} I’ll have to look into the Fireflight song

  16. Andrew from SC on November 24th, 2008
  17. I have only downloaded the first CD so far. I’m really liking The Oil Press by My Epic, and am probably going to buy their CD.

  18. Haley on November 29th, 2008
  19. Andrew: It’s massive! Thankfully, my grandparents have fast internet, otherwise I would’ve never get my copy.

Haley: My Epic is a great band. I need to hear that song yet, but I loved “The Antidote” from their Purevolume.

  21. I was just listening to “Austrian Death Machine”, and noticed in the iTunes store they are stickered. Anyone know why this is? If there’s bands in this list that aren’t Christian, that’d be great to know!

  22. The Lamma on January 29th, 2009
  23. The Lamma: Austrian Death Machine is kind of a hard band to classify. It’s a side-project of Tim from As I Lay Dying, with one of the guys from Destroy the Runner, both of which are usually considered Christian bands. The weird part is Austrian Death Machine is a tribute band to Arnold Schwarzenegger, the original Austrian death machine, of Terminator fame. All ADM’s songs are centered around a Arnold quote. So, yeah, it’s tricky.

Other then them, I think all the other bands are Christian, but since I’ve never heard of half of them, I can’t say for sure. Hope that helps!

  24. Matt on January 30th, 2009
  25. Ok, thanks!! That is pretty a pretty strange idea for a band. I also noticed that there was two of the same album from them on iTunes – one was explicit one wasn’t.

  26. The Lamma on January 30th, 2009
  27. Hi There! Wow thanks for putting a link on our sampler on your site. I loved going through all the comments.

Just to clarify things, all the bands on the sampler are christians, or at least made of christian members. And as we’re based in France (yeah, we’re french :D ), than a lot of bands that you might have never heard of are either french or europeans (lots of german and finnish bands in it).

    Glad you like it!

  29. Jeremie, I loved the inclusion of the German and Polish guys. Without a sampler like this, I probably wouldn’t have heard of these rocking bands for Christ. Love it!!

  30. The Lamma on January 31st, 2009
  31. Jeremie: No problem! I’m glad I was able, to, even if it did take me quite a while to put the artists and songs in. :D

I’m hoping you decide to do another one sometime this year. I know I’d listen to it. :)

  32. Matt on January 31st, 2009
  33. Well this could happen at around the same time, we’ll start soon to work on another free sampler. Dunno what size will it be, we’ll take what bands/labels will offer us :-)

Thanks again, and love your blog!
