Lovelite – All Color

Today’s featured download is, in fact, a full CD by Californian worship band Lovelite.  The CD is called All Color, and I’m actually listening to it as I type.  I’m impressed.

Lovelite All ColorAndrew Polfer and his wife Jen, the group’s core members, alternate on the vocals, which produces gives the songs a great sound.  Jen’s voice reminds me of Leigh Nash (of Sixpence None the Richer) and Brooke Fraser, and Andrew’s sounds a little like Phil Wickham, so if could imagine a combination of those three voices, and have them sing over music that sounds like Sleeping at Last or even some of Esterlyn’s slower songs, that’s about what Lovelite sounds like.  (And don’t worry, if you can’t imagine what that would sound like, you can always just listen on their website.)

Like I said to start with, Lovelite is a worship band, and all of the songs on All Color reflect that.  The lyrics are intelligent and heart-felt, and the music is great, and to top it off, the whole thing is professionally mixed & mastered.  I’m really digging this one.  :)

Now, for the download.  The group has got the full CD up on their website as a pay-what-you-feel download, so you can get it for as much or as little as you’d like.  It’s definitely worth the $12 or $11 you’d pay for a normal CD, but if that’s a bit much, you can always pay less.  Or, if God’s blessed you with some extra money, you can gift it on and give a little more.  I know the band would appreciate any size donation.

Anyway, check the band out.  I know I’m going to keep this one handy for future listens, and hope you enjoy it as much as I am.  Needless to say, I’d love to hear what you think.  Enjoy!

One last thing, Lovelite has also got all the chords and lyrics for their songs available for free on their Resources page, so if you’d like to play one of their songs at your church, you can.  All they ask is that you send them an email and let them know how it went.  Pretty cool if you ask me.

  11. Love the sound of it. You nailed it, Jen has the same voice as the singer from Sixpence None The Richer, and a little bit of Miss Angie and Plumb. All girls with wonderfull voices!
