They’ve Come A Long Way: Anberlin
I was watching music videos on TV this afternoon, and I happened to see some very, very old videos from Skillet & Switchfoot. As I watched them, I thought it was funny how far they’ve come (and how they’ve aged…) since their first music videos. As I thought, I decided I need to showcase a few examples of just how far a few of your favorite artists have come since their first projects. To kick it off, I’ve found Anberlin’s “Ready Fuels” from their debut Blueprints for the Black Market, and “The Unwinding Cable Car” from their third album, Cities…

Now, haven’t they come a long way? Enjoy!
Oh, and if you don’t have it already, you can download “Ready Fuels” , along with “A Day Late” and “Glass to the Arson”, from Anberlin’s Purevolume profile, here:

Interesting. I got a kick out of watching the Ready Fuels video. That song was the one that introduced me to Anberlin, and I still think its one of their best songs ever, as is Glass to the Arson. IMHO their best album was NTFP. Their new stuff is great as well, but their old stuff is better.
After the first 25 seconds of the first video i’m like oh what is this crap..and the second one watched and was like man..what a great music video. Their production has stepped up for sure.
Oh my goodness, stephen looks so different on ready fuels. he’s grown his hair out too! sweet sonmgs!
Dustin: I really liked Never Take Friendship Personal too, “A Day Late”, “Paperthin Hymn”, and “Audrey, Start the Revolution” have been on my favorite songs list for a long time.
Brian: Wikipedia quotes Stephen quite nicely on that topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Readyfuels.
Anoymous: Just wait till cover how far Switchfoot has come…

Hey, Switchfoot’s early videos(You Already Take Me There) were great too
Skillet’s videos have always been pretty sub-par, though. I love their music, but their videos are…ok
Dude, this is awesome. I remember their Readyfuels vid, and thinking that it was just them playing in front of a bad Windows Screensaver, lol. But my favorite from them had to be their Paperthin Hymn video… and then I saw their new vid for Feel Good Drag… woah. Yeah, Anberlin has def gone a long way. Oh, and here’s an extra Anberlin vid you may not have seen before (for good reason, lol): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdrjPBCAjBI
Thanks for posting this!
Ready Fuels is a great song, but my bro could make a vid better than that xD
Christian: Actually, it’s a little know fact, but “You Already Take Me There” wasn’t Switchfoot’s first video. There were others… but I’ll get to them in good time.
bbbco: Haha, well, it’s still 100x better then the one I tried for Relient K’s “Be My Escape”…
And you are welcome!
The Lamma: Here’s what you need to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrElX1zfJ6o. Gotta love those TVU folks!

bbbco: Read the description next time. Its a fan video made for a kid’s Non-Linear Digital Video Editing class. Not actually Anberlin.
Matt: OH. MY. FREAKING. GOSH. I would have gotten that. Over my dead body. xD
The Lamma: He can say it because he made the video. Check the name.
And actually, that’s a pretty good price for a green wall and mic stand, and the backgrounds would have made it better… ;D

I’ve been listening to The Unwinding Cable Car and Inevitable by Anberlin on repeat all night. Such great songs and such amazing concert memories of singing along with with Anberlin and a few hundred Singaporean emos and indie rockers.
