Free Easter Sampler from Walmart MP3

Alright, so I know Easter was last Sunday, but better later then never right I say, especially when there’s free music involved.  Walmart MP3 is giving away a 21-song free sampler that they’re calling Easter Soundtrack: 2010.  According to the website, it’s all “inspiration” artists, which can mean a lot of different things, but I can identify 7 of the artists as Christian for sure, and despite being primarily unsigned or under the radar artists, I’m fairly sure about the rest.  If you know either way on any of these, please leave a comment and let me know!

The tracklist:

3. Tamela Mann – “The Lord’s Prayer”
4. Sackcloth Fashion – “Direction”
5. Words In Windows – “More Divine”
6. Kaboose – “I Give You”
7. Perry LaHaie – “You Are The King”
8. RedCloud ft. Jayo Felony, Eek-A-Mouse, & Tonéx – “Guns & Roses”
9. Sara Renner – “All For Love”
10. Blasé – “My Gift”
11. Nia Allen – “It’s Gonna Be Alright”
12. Norman Hutchins – “I’ve Been Redeemed”
13. Martha Munizzi – “I Recieve Your Love”
14. Braille – “Blessed Man”
15. Sup the Chemist – “Understand”
16. Green Olive Tree – “Universe”
17. Wayburn Dean – “I Need A Savior”
18. Air Five – “I Will Carry You”
19. Kathleen Carnali – “Dangerous Prayer”
20. Young Decent – “God’s Way”
21. BreatheDeep – “You Came For Me”

Out of that whole list, the only song I’m familiar with is Air Five’s pop-rock “I Will Carry You”, which, by the way, I’d recommend.  I haven’t had an opportunity to listen through the whole thing yet, so I don’t have much more to say besides this:  He is risen!

   I have seen that INO Records sampler, but I haven’t posted about it yet since all of the songs are or have been available for free, although if you’re missing some of the songs it’s a good place to pick them up.

   I’m familiar with Thi’sl, Kaboose, RedCloud, Martha Munizzi, Braille, Sup the Chemist, Air Five, and Kathleen Carnali, and someone just spoke on Green Olive Tree’s behalf. That’s all I know so far.

   After listening to the whole Sampler I doubt that there are any non-christian Artists on it. From the ones that haven’t been named yet I think the lyrics of most of them are clear (specially NewFire, Words in Windows, Perry LaHaie, Sara Renner, Blasé, Norman Hutchins, Wayburn Dean, Young Decent and BreatheDeep). I know this is no guarantee, but since it’s not a Christmas sampler (where a lot of artists make songs with lyrics they don’t believe) I think we can trust that those artists sing what they believe.

   And finally remember 1. Samuel 16,7: We never know what’s in the heart of somebody, only God does. Or who can guarantee that i.e. TobyMac really is a Christian? (By that I don’t mean by that I doubt it, but the only way to know about that for sure is to look for him in heaven )
