Free Songs from Seabird

I’ve got two free songs to tell you about today from a very awesome band, Seabird.  Both of the songs are new, one being the band’s hit “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful” and the other being “Silent Night” from the band’s new Christmas EP.

Seabird Don't You Know You're BeautifulFirst up, “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful”.  There’s actually a few sites you can download it from right now, but I have to say my favorite spot to get it is the TFCMB Facebook Page.  I may be biased too, but anyway, it’s a fantastic song, one of those songs that’s almost too good to be free.  But, since it is, you might as well enjoy it.  :)

Now, “Silent Night”.  I haven’t gotten this song yet, so I’m not sure if it works, but it ought to.  Ryan & Aaron of Seabird filmed a quick video with all the information about the download, which you can see below, thanks to Tangle.  Enjoy!

Jesus Freak Hideout Free Music Update

Free music today from Jesus Freak Hideout, one of my favorite Christian music websites.  JFH has a rather impressive list of free and legal song downloads.  I haven’t covered the page in a while, and I figured it was time for an update, especially since they’ve got so much new music added. For example, Phil Joel’s Christmas song “Nativity”, hip-hopper JustMe’s song “How I Met Your Mother”, Fiction Family’s “When She’s Near”, All Star United’s rock/pop jam “Surface of the Sun”, and two from Eleventyseven, the rockin’ “Nightmare” and crazy and exclusive “Cody’s Song”.

There’s actually quite a story behind “Cody’s Song” – it’s from a contest sponsored by Eleventyseven and run by Jesus Freak Hideout. Entrants gave a list of 10 or so facts about them, and then Eleventyseven used those facts to write a song about the winner, who happened to be named Cody.  The result is downright zany pop/hip-hop style theme song like no other.

Besides that, there’s also several older songs still available, namely Jars of Clay’s “Closer”, Lanae’ Hale’s “Love Is Worth The Fight”, Sixpence None The Richer’s “Angels We Have Heard on High”, and Sara Groves’ “O Holy Night”.  Good stuff all around, at least if you ask me.  Enjoy!

Free Christmas Song from The Fold

Happy Christmas Vol. 4Well, the big day is over.  I hope you had as amazing a Christmas as I did.  Anyway, despite the fact that Christmas is actually over, there’s still quite a few Christmas downloads that I’ve haven’t gotten too, so hopefully you’re still in the mode for some free holiday tunes.  First up today, The Fold is giving away their version of “O Holy Night” from a few years back (which was originally on the Tooth & Nail Happy Christmas Vol. 4 compilation).

Like before, with the band’s download of “File Under: Ground (Take Me In)”, all you need to do to claim the song is sent the band an email at a special address, merryxmas@thefoldrock.com.  You should get an email with a link to download the song within a few minutes.  Enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

Well, it’s finally here:  Christmas Eve.  I’m going to be taking the rest of today and tomorrow off, to celebrate, unless I should happen upon something so amazing I just have to post about it.  That said, have a very merry, wonderful Christmas, and remember that the same Jesus that was born in that stable, over two thousand years ago is the same one who loves you know, and will never let you go.

God bless, and merry Christmas!

-Matt

Free Christmas Song From Matt Maher

Matt Maher Silent Night (Emmanuel)Free music today from Matt Maher!  AmazonMP3 is giving away Matt’s Christmas song “Silent Night (Emmanuel)” as part of their very impressive of other free songs.  Matt first released the song last year digitally, and, if I remember correctly, it was featured on iTickets then.

Anyway, the song is a medley of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”, and “Silent Night”, and pretty quiet & relaxing.

Casting Crowns

Casting Crowns Peace on EarthCasting Crowns has definitely had a big year this year, what with their new album, Until The Whole World Hears coming out this fall, and winning the Dove Award for Group of the Year this spring.

There’s actually three free Christmas songs available from the group this right now, all three of which are from their CD Peace on Earth, “I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day”, “Joy to the World”, and “While You Were Sleeping (Christmas Version)”.  The first two are available from AmazonMP3, and the the third is from CCM Magazine’s website.  Enjoy!

Free Christmas Song from Annie Moses Band

Annie Moses Band This Glorious ChristmasThe Annie Moses Band, much like Mannheim Steamroller and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, is one of those bands that seems to only exist to play Christmas music.  They’ve released 3 Christmas albums in the last three years alone.  So it’s no surprise to see that AmazonMP3 is giving away one of their Christmas songs this season, namely, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” from This Glorious Christmas.

The song is mostly instrumental, which is fine, because the group is definitely skilled at their instruments.  It’s a bit different from most of the Christmas music I’ve covered so far this year, but it’s still quite good – worth checking out.  Enjoy!

The Weekly Downloads: Dec. 22 ~ Dec. 27

It’s hard to believe it’s Christmas week already!  Despite the fact that the season gets longer every year, it still seems to fly by.  Despite New Release Tuesday taking the week off from downloads, there’s still lots of great music out there this week.  For example…

One of the more exciting downloads for me this week is Seabird’s excellent “Joy to the World”, which is available for free from iTickets, along with Hiram Ring’s “O Little Child”, and Clarkwise’s “The Christ-mas Song (Merry Christ-mas to You)”.  Check it out!

Another big download this week is Relient K’s “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, the first track from Let It Snow Baby…Let It Reindeer.  I picked it up free last year, but you don’t have it yet, I definitely recommend downloading from Tangle this week.

-Tangle.com-

Also worth downloading, FreeCCM.com has MercyMe’s “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” and Mark Harris’ “Silent Night”.

Last but not least, Gospel Music Channel is featuring “Christmas Is Here” by The Katinas this week.  Enjoy!

That’s it for this Christmas week, see you next week!

Free Christmas EP from The Fray

This is about as hot-off-the-presses as it get – The Fray have just announced through their Facebook page that they are giving away their brand new acoustic Christmas EP for free to anyone who’s a member of their fan club… and they’ve also just announced that a one-year membership to said fan club is free!  And if that’s not good enough, you can still download The Fray’s version “The First Noel” for free from the fan club homepage, no membership or sign-up required.  I happen to be listening to that song right now, and it’s good – really good.  Don’t miss this one!

Free Christmas EP from JJ Heller

JJ Heller Wake Up The World

Free music today from Christian acoustic/folk artist JJ Heller, who is releasing her 2007 Christmas EP Wake Up The World as a free download, this month only.  Acoustic normally isn’t my style, but for the genre, this is pretty good stuff.  If you’re a fan of Alli Rogers or Sara Groves, there’s a good chance you’ll love this.  Like I said though, it’s only available for the rest of December, so if you want you’ll have to grab it on NoiseTrade soon.  Enjoy!
