1000 Generations: Back With A Vengeance

A long, long time ago, in a post written back in May of 2008, I was able to offer two exclusive free songs from indie praise & worship band 1000 Generations.  The two songs, “Not of Our Hands” and “Prove Us Wrong” (both from the band’s To Those Who Cry album,) were made available for free through the TFCMB MyCCM account.  Since then, 1000 Generations was signed by Varietal Records, and MyCCM completely changed their site format, leaving the downloads unavailable.

That is, until today.  I’ve got both tracks (complete with album art and ID3 information) in a .zip file and uploaded, ready for your downloading pleasure.  Enjoy!

Free Music and Bill Gates!?

I got this in an email from 1000 Generations today:

“We need your help! 1000 Generations’ song, “Bring Me Down,” has been chosen as a finalist in Microsoft’s indie artist contest called “Playlist 7.” Your vote is what we need to pull it to the top (plus you’ll get FREE downloads)!

Fans can go to www.reverbnation.com/playlist7 and click on “Current Contenders.” Scroll through the artists until you see 1000 Generations. Vote for “Bring Me Down” by downloading it (again, for free)! If you aren’t already a Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter friend of “Windows,” you’ll be asked to join the group. Exclusive From 1000 Generations

Today, I’m honored to have free music from 1000 Generations. The band has graciously allowed me to feature two of their songs, “Prove Us Wrong” and “Not Of Our Hands”, in a The Free Christian Music Blog exclusive.

Musically, the praise and worship band lists Caedmon’s Call and David Crowder*Band among their influences, with a little tribal-inspired beat. The music is definitely good, and if you enjoy a piano-driven song, you definitely want to check them out. After all, it’s free.

I’ve upload both songs to the TFCMB MyCCM profile, where you can download both songs for free, as well as listen to them online. In addition to that, if you check out the group’s website, you can get another free, unreleased song by joining the 1000 Generations mailing list.
