Anberlin
“Pray Tell’, Anberlin
New music from Anberlin! The band is giving away “Pray Tell” from their upcoming album Dark is a Way, Light is a Place on Spin.com. It’s a little different from what Anberlin has done in the past, but I’m already enjoying it. Based on the three songs I’ve heard so far, the new album should be fantastic. Check it out!

They’ve Come A Long Way: Anberlin
I was watching music videos on TV this afternoon, and I happened to see some very, very old videos from Skillet & Switchfoot. As I watched them, I thought it was funny how far they’ve come (and how they’ve aged…) since their first music videos. As I thought, I decided I need to showcase a few examples of just how far a few of your favorite artists have come since their first projects. To kick it off, I’ve found Anberlin’s “Ready Fuels” from their debut Blueprints for the Black Market, and “The Unwinding Cable Car” from their third album, Cities…
“Ready Fuels”
“The Unwinding Cable Car”
Now, haven’t they come a long way? Enjoy!
Oh, and if you don’t have it already, you can download “Ready Fuels” , along with “A Day Late” and “Glass to the Arson”, from Anberlin’s Purevolume profile, here:
Free Anberlin Single Download (Again!)
Quick Update: Even though you can’t download Anberlin’s “Feel Good Drag” on AOL Music any more, you can download it from Fuse.tv’s free music page. I originally posted about the song way back in August, and here’s what I thought then:
“I’ve only heard it 7-8 times so far, and it’s great… If you like Anberlin, or alt-rock in general, don’t wait, download now and ask questions later.”
Free Anberlin Single Dowload (Yes!)

As any Anberlin fans are well aware, the new CD from the band, New Surrender, is due out September 30, 2008. While I don’t know about the rest of the world, I can’t wait to hear it.
Which brings me to today’s free song, from New Surrender, “The Feel Good Drag”. You can download the song for free exclusively from AOL Music. I’ve only heard it 7-8 times so far, and it’s great. I should warn you, the lyrics are a bit mature (it’s written from a Christian perspective, but still not appropriate for everyone).
If you like Anberlin, or alt-rock in general, don’t wait, download now and ask questions later.

(Pssst! Word on the street is that you can already pre-order New Surrender on Amazon.
It ships September 30.)
Brand New Tooth and Nail / Solid State Sampler

This could very well be the biggest news in free music since MyFreeMusicFriday.com shut down. Only this time, it’s good news.
Tooth and Nail and Solid State Records have teamed up again to create the ultimate free sampler once again. (The last one was the Hey! sampler, last year.) This time, it’s full of free new and unreleased songs from the latest and greatest artists on Tooth and Nail. To save time, I’ll just post the track listing. It speaks for itself.
- Children 18:3 – “LCM”
- The Classic Crime – “Abracadavers”
- Underoath – “In Regards To Myself (Live)”
- Capital Lights – “Outrage!”
- Ivoryline – “Be Still and Breathe”
- Sever Your Ties – “Captive”
- August Burns Reds – “Composure”
- Secret and Whisper – “XOXOXO”
- MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE – “HEADSHOT!”
- Oh, Sleeper – “Vices Like Vipers”

- The Becoming – “I Cry”
- Anberlin – “The Haunting”
- Demon Hunter – “Storm the Gates of Hell”

- Search the City – “Son of a Gun”
- Family Force 5- “Fever”
- Run Kid Run – “Captives Come Home”
- Far-less – “A Toast To Bad Taste”
- Norma Jean – “Robots 3 Humans 0″
You can get all of the mp3s for free, in one .zip file, just by entering your name, email, and country of residence at the website. Tooth and Nail will them email you the link for the sampler.
Standout tracks are Anberlin’s “The Haunting”, which is a hauntingly beautiful Cities b-side, Capital Lights’ “Outrage!”, which is so unbelievable happy and catchy, it should be a controlled substance. Capital Lights is one of the best power-pop bands I’ve ever heard, and a must-hear for Hello Kelly and Eleventyseven fans.
For hardcore fans, “Vices Like Vipers” by new hardcore band Oh, Sleeper, is amazing. Tons of lyrical depth, plenty of screaming, eerie choruses, the works. And you can’t go wrong with Demon Hunter, Norma Jean, The Chariot, Inhale Exhale, and August Burns Red.
Actually, most of the songs on this are must-hear. Packed with new and old songs, this is one sampler you don’t want to miss. After all, it’s free!

Christmas Series: Day 12 – Carried Away, Christine Evans
Well, this is the last of the Christmas series. I am just going to post everything I’ve got left today. Which just happens to be Carried Away and Christine Evans, as well as a couple of bonuses. You can download two different Christmas songs at Christine Evan’s Myspace page, “Mary Did You Know?” and “How Far to Bethlehem”. Alas, like all Myspace downloads, you need to be signed in to Myspace to download the songs.
After you’ve got those, you can switch over to Carried Away Insiders (CAI) and download five different songs free after you sign-up. You can get “Christmas Medley”, which is rendered acapella. Next is “Soaring Through the Sky”, which is a nice, pop-contemporary song, followed by two remixes of “Mystery”, which is also a great song. Finally, the 2007 Christmas song, “Snow Falls”. It’s way better then the first song “Christmas Medley”. Slow and Christmas-y. Great song.
Now for the bonuses. You can listen to Spoken’s “Mary Did You Know” on their Myspace page, here. You can also listen to TobyMac’s “This Christmas” here. And, you can listen to Stellar Kart’s original song “Punk the Halls” on their Myspace page! And, if that’s not enough, you can listen to Christmas songs by Anberlin, the Huntington’s, and probably Joy Electric, though I didn’t check. Just look and you’ll probably find.
Also, I found this song that’s free. It’s not exactly the best song, but it’s free and Christmas. Get it here.
And with that, I bring to a close the Christmas Series…

Hey! It’s another Tooth & Nail/Solid State sampler. Pun intended. Anyway, it’s got 18 songs from a variety of T&N artists, including Anberlin, Neon Horse, Ruth, Surrogate, The Send, and MxPx. It’s got some sweet songs, and it’s made even better by the fact that they are all newer songs. So, don’t wait another minute.
