Punk Rock Life Vol. 1

On of the things I love about writing TFCMB is the cool people I get to meet (even if it’s just through the internet).  One such cool person is Tyler H.  He runs his own site, Christian Music Zine, writes for Indie Vision Music, and is a big punk rock fan.  So, when I heard that he was putting together a free compilation of independent Christian punk rock bands, I wasn’t all that surprised. 

Christian Music Zine officially released Punk Rock Life Vol. 1 on July 27 of this year, featuring 14 tracks (counting a b-side that came in late) of some talented underground punk rock.  I recognized a couple of names from Indie Vision Music’s samplers, but there were quite a few band on here I wasn’t familiar with.  I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the songs I’ve heard so far – the sound quality is great, the lyrics and musicianship has been good, and it’s a fairly diverse collection too.  I like it, and if you like MxPx, Olivia the Band, FM Static, Static Shoes, Side Walk Slam, Children 18:3, or just good Christian punk rock in general, I’d definitely recommend checking this out.
