Blindside

Free Rare Remix from Blindside

BlindsideToday’s featured free music comes from a band called Blindside, and exciting free music it is.  Why?  Because it’s a 100% legal, 100% official, rare remix.  Any true fan should have a copy.

Anyway, the original song was “Silence”, which has been mutated by the reactive waters of remixing into a stripped down version of it’s former self.  The new version fits the title nicely.  It’s ambient, with plenty of quiet moments highlighting the vocals.  The remix  can’t really be called rock, but, at least in my opinion, the new version works.  It’s not showy, or electronic, like most remixes.  It is a soft, almost silent version that showcases Christian’s vocals and the lyrics (which don’t disappoint.  Blindside has a nack for writing inspiring, deep lyrics).

Now, to download the song you’re going to be enlisted.  Enlisted in the Blindside Union, the band’s street team, that is.  Head over to the link below, fill out the form, and join.  Once you’ve done that, you can go back to the street team site and click “Exclusives” list in the sidebar.  “Silence (Remix)” is on the page.

One last thing, it is possible to access the “Exclusives” page without joining the street team, but don’t do that.  It’s called exclusives for a reason, and since the band obviously intends it to be a thank you to their fans, it’s just not right to download the song without joining first.  That said, I hope you enjoy the song.  :)

11 Bands to Watch for in 2008

~ 11 Bands to look for in 2008 ~

11. Stellar Kart. If we really can Expect the Impossible, it must be pretty cool.

10. Inhabited. Their new album Love has been getting good reviews already, and looks to be an great CD.

9. Inhale Exhale. After a great debut, their sophomore disk looks to be great as well.

8. Pillar. With the apparent return to their older style, For the Love of the Game looks to be a worth squeal continuation to the Pillar legacy.

7. Hawk Nelson. If past awesome-ness is a sign of future awesome-ness, they are in great shape.

6. The Afters. After, what, three years, the band return with their second album, which looks to be as good or better then then I Wish We All Could Win.

5. P.O.D. (Payable on Death). Overlooking there new CD, When Angels and Serpents Dance, would be a serious mistake.

4. Showbread. Is a so crazy. They are releasing two different CDs on the same day. Who know what will happen? For sheer unpredictability, you need to keep an eye on them.

3. Kutless. With a new CD supposedly on the way, the massively popular band will definitely be one to watch for.

2. Underoath. The hardcore phenomenon. The mere fact that they are doing a new CD has music fans around the world in desperate anticipation.

1. Family Force 5. In two years, they went from unknowns to one of the hottest bands in Christian music. With a new, untitled CD on the way, the dance party that is FF5 will likely continue to spread.

Honorably Mentions:

A Rotterdam November. Despite being unsigned and unknown, they landed a hit with “City Without a Heart” and look to be a promising band.

Fireflight. Looks Unbreakable.

Leeland. Blindside. Switchfoot. Anberlin. John Reuben. Krystal Meyers. Deserved to fit in the top 11, only I ran out of room. :(
