Building 429
The Weekly Downloads: Jan. 12 ~ Jan. 18
It’s been a fairly good week for free music all around, not the greatest, but there’s still a couple of good songs available. Here’s the list:
First up, FreeCCM is offering up a free download of Building 429′s “Never Gonna Let You Down”, track number one from the band’s most recent album. Also, FreeCCM is give 5 folks the a free copy of Chasen’s new album, before it hits stores. Get the details on that contest right here.

Also available this week is Day of Fire’s new song “Lately” from Gospel Music Channel. That particular song seems to be popping up everywhere these days, but I can’t say I mind, because it really is a good song. Check it out!
iTickets has just one free song this week, from an artist named P.E.A.R.L.. The song is “I Am Called”, from the I Am Called. As I Am. EP.
Last but definitely not least, New Release Tuesday has a new song from All Star United called “Beautiful Way”. It’s a bonus track from the American physical release of All Star United’s latest, The Good Album. I’ve been hearing lots of good things about The Good Album, but really, how can they go wrong when it features a song called “Dude, That’s Freaking Awesome!”?
Anyway, check out “Beautiful Way” on NRT, and give The Good Album a listen if you have a chance.
Music, News, Music, News
It’s a rainy, dull day at my place today, so I’m going to take the time to get caught up with some site announcements, music news, and of course, some free music.
To kick it off, FreeCCM.com has added quite a few new songs to their site, including cuts from Building 429, Phil Wickham, Sara Groves, 33 Miles, Caedmon’s Call, Chris Rice, and a sweet rockin’ song from Disciple’s latest CD called “Whisper So Loud”. FreeCCM has been updating a lot lately, so it might be a good idea to get these songs soon.
It looks like the next couple of months are going to be busy ones for me, and since James isn’t going to be available to back me up, posting may be a bit sporadic. I hope not, but if I’m not available, I thought you should know.
That brings me to the second order of business. I would love to bring in a few more writers to help keep the site current. That would make my life a lot easier and give me more time to find more free music, reply to emails, improve the site, etc. If you like Christian music, like writing, and have a lot of free time, and might be interested, I’d appreciate it if you’d pray about it, and if God says yes, send me an email. My address is on the Contact page.
Now, how about some more music. iTicket’s has got an unprecented FOUR free songs this week, from Mandisa, House of Heroes, Veggie Tales, and Brad & Rebekah Bichsel. I’ve only heard the House of Heroes song before (it’s “In The Valley of the Dying Sun” again), so I suggest you go and form your own opinions.
Now, let me see, what else has been happening in the music world. Aha, yes! The website VideoRocket is giving away the incredible music video from House of Heroes, “In The Valley of the Dying Sun”. VideoRocket is somehow affiliated with iTickets, hence the same song both places. The video is in QuickTime format, at fair quality. Check it out!

Moving right along, I was checking RadioU‘s Insider earlier this week and was amazed to see that they had linked to my post on the Fuel Magazine Tooth & Nail sampler. I was so totally blown away at the time I had trouble speaking. RadioU has been my favorite radio station for the last couple years, so it’s a huge honor to linked by them. Not only do they play amazing music, they also keep the focus on God, and on Christ. I really respect that, so I think it’s pretty sweet that they read TFCMB.
Anyway, I think that’s about it…
Matt is Moving! (Plus Free Music from Ino Records)
Epic good news for me this week! After a very, very long wait, I’m finally going to be moving this week to a much nicer house. While that means lots of packing and hauling for me, it also means that I may not be able to post for a while. I’m still hoping to get a few posts in this week, but it looks like I may be on a short intermission. Don’t worry, I will hopefully be back by next week. That out of the way, let’s get to the music!
FreeCCM.com has just added three new songs from Building 429, The Afters, and Phil Wickham. Building 429′s song, “Coming Home” is from the group’s brand new CD Building 429 starts off, while Mr. Wickham’s “Beautiful”, from Cannons follows, after which a surprising pick from The Afters round out this month’s selection. It’s a bit unusual that Ino Records choose to feature “Someday”, from the band’s first CD, over something more recent (I.E. from Never Going Back to Okay). Even so, the song is great. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

Free Download from Building 429
This week iTicket’s has a free download of “End of Me”, by Building 429, from B429′s self-titled debut on INO Records. I’ve been seeing several downloads from Building 429 popping up lately, so hopefully everyone like Building 429 – they maybe the only music I feature for a while.
Just kidding… or am I?
Unexpected Sources of Free Music – Part 1
I know this isn’t totally free, but when a friend emailed me about this, I knew I had to feature it…
ChristianBook.com is got Absolute Smash Hits Volumes 1 & 2, a four disc CD se
t (think a WOW Hits clone), on sale for $5.99. That’s 50 songs for 6 bucks. 50 songs! That’s 8.3472454090150250417362270450751* cents per song. That’s approximately 91 cents cheaper per song then iTunes. Not bad at all, for a collection of some of Christian music’s greatest hits. In fact, it’s a steal. Not as good as free, but almost.
Of course there has to be a downside. In this case it’s the selection. It’s almost all somewhat under-the-radar artists CCM artists. The loudest it get’s in 12 Stones and Skillet. But, that maybe perfect for you, in which case that would be a plus and not a minus. So, anyway, it’s worth checking out.
