New Tooth & Nail Records Sampler!
No, your eyes do not deceive – there is indeed a new Tooth & Nail Records sampler out! It’s called Tooth & Nail Records Bamboozle 2010 Sampler, and will be available until May 16th. The tracklisting:
- The Almost – “Hands”
- The Classic Crime – “Solar Powered Life”
- Secret & Whisper – “Warrior (Southern Arrowwood)”
- Queens Club – “Less Talk”
- Write This Down – “Renegade”
- Sent By Ravens – “New Fire”
- Poema – “2 A.M.”
- Fair – “Disappearing World”
- To Speak of Wolves – “Darkness Often Yields the Brightest Light”
- Oh Sleeper – “Son of the Morning”
- Number One Gun – “Forest”
- Emery – “Edge of the World”
- Living Sacrifice – “Rules of Engagement”
- MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE – “Faithless”
- Inhale Exhale – “Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?”
- Advent – “Pack of Fools”
- Gwen Stacy – “The First Words”
- Demon Hunter – “Collapsing”
- Since October – “The Show”
- The Letter Black – “Hanging On By A Thread”
- Mae – “In Pieces”
As you can see, it’s a pretty sweet list of tunes – there’s only one song from last year’s Fuel sampler included, and out of the 21 songs I’ve only seen two available anywhere before. That’s impressive, and the songs are just as impressive. I’d recommend Fair, Poema, and Secret & Whisper in particular, though really, I’m enjoying nearly all of the songs on here. Don’t miss out!
-Tooth and Nail Records Bamboozle 2010 Sampler-
(Thanks to TFCMB reader BenJo for tipping me off to this!)
Sampler Attack!
I’ve already had two samplers this week (here and here), and guess what? I’ve got two more to share, plus updates on two previously featured samplers. Unfortunately, none of the samplers are completely Christian, but they do all have a couple of good songs each, so they’re still worth downloading.
First things first, hardcore is one genre that hasn’t shown up much on TFCMB lately, but that’s about to change, thanks to several of these samplers. First up, Hassle Records and Vagrant Records have joined forces to create a sampler that features, among quite a few mainstream bands, August Burns Red’s song “Meddler” and Thrice’s song “All the World Is Mad”.
Don’t freak out, August Burns Red is still signed to Solid State Records – I have from a reliable source that Hassle Records is just distributing ABR to the UK, and Solid State is still handling the US. Also, Thrice. I’m not sure about the rest of the band, but I know they’re lead singer Dustin Kensrue is, and from what I’ve seen a lot of their songs draw heavily from his faith, so I’ll leave it to your discretion whether to keep the song or not. Either way, you can download the sampler by signing up for Hassle & Vagrant’s mailing list. Check it out!
-Hassle/Vagrant’s Free Sampler-
Update: Bad news, despite my having signed up over a week ago, I still haven’t heard anything about it, so I’ve come to the conclusive that the Hassle/Vagrant sampler must not be available at present.
Next up is an update on a post James did last July, on the Face the Change compilation. It’s mostly mainstream songs, but there are tracks from Emery, Anchor & Braille, and We Shot the Moon, and it turns out, contrary to what I thought at the time, the We Shot the Moon song included, “Sway Your Head”, is actually an exclusive acoustic version of the song – something I wish I had know before I deleted the song (and had to re-download the sampler). I’ve been on a We Shot the Moon kick lately, and I really didn’t want anyone to miss a chance to get the acoustic version free.
Check James’s post for the details!
Now for another hardcore sampler, this time from Revolver Magazine. It’s 21 songs, most of which look pretty nasty, but, it also features free songs from Impending Doom, Corpus Christi, and For Today. Check it out below!
-Revolver Magazine’s Mayhem Metal Compilation-
Lastly, despite being rather old news, I’d like to point out that Equal Vision & Rise Record’s Jawsome Summer Sampler 08 is still available, and it features The Devil Wears Prada’s song “HTML Rulez D00d”. I’ve already posted about this once before, but it was a rather small mention in a big post, and I thought it deserved a bigger mention. I mean, it is free TDWP.
-The Jawsome Summer Sampler 08 on Equal Vision-
Actually, since I’m on the topic of samplers, hardcore, and The Devil Wears Prada, I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity to recommend another older sampler, from Rise Records, with some awesome songs from the aforementioned The Devil Wears Prada, plus Before Their Eyes and a sick rare song from Burden of a Day. Check it out!
Face The Change Compilation

Faceless International is organization that seeks to get people involved and to help defend the exploited faceless people all around the world. I’m keeping the description short because I want all of you to go look for yourself and learn more about them. I strongly encourage you to go to the website now.
To help raise awareness, Faceless is giving away a compilation which includes 21 artists, a few Christian ones like Emery, We Shot The Moon, and Anchor and Braille, which is a side project of Stephen Christian from Anberlin (he also co-founded Faceless). If any of the other artists are Christian artist, please tell me and I’ll add them to this list.
-Face the Change Compilation -
While this site is focused primarily on music, I love that we are sometimes given the opportunity to put the spotlight on an organization like this. So download the compilation, and enjoy the downloads, especially the Anchor and Braille song, but don’t forget to get involved in something and make a difference. It doesn’t have to be this or even have to be a charity.
Summer Festival Sampler 2009
Yes, you heard me right, yet another summer sampler from Tooth & Nail/BECrecordings/Solid State. This one might not be as big and make your head explode, but it still contains some good music. Also, many of these songs were already on the previous Sampler Matt posted just two days ago, but, this one does have a few songs that were not. Of the twelve songs, 7 of them are on the Fuel Sampler. Track listing:
- Emery – Cutthroat Collapse
- Thousand Foot Krutch – Bring Me To Life
- Kutless – The Rescue
- FM Static – Boy Moves to a New Town with Optimistic Outlook
- The Glorious Unseen – Hear Our Prayers
- Falling Up – Streams of Woe at Acheron
- KJ-52 – Wake Up
- Hawk Nelson – Lets Dance Dojo Dominating Remix by Jason Dunn
- Since October – Guilty
- August Burns Red – Thirty and Seven
- Seventh Day Slumber – Take Everything
- Children 18:3 – All My Balloons
Anyway, even if you did get the Fuel Sampler, the remaining five songs on the Summer Festival Sampler ’09 make it all the worth while to download. Besides, what do you have to lose?
-Summer Festival Sampler 2009-
It also says that the ‘The Rescue’ is done by an artist called by the same name. However, when I downloaded it, it came out as Kutless. I haven’t heard of an artist by the name by ‘The Rescue’, so I believe it was just an error.
Fuel Returns (And Matt’s Head Explodes)
It’s true – Tooth & Nail and Solid State Records have let loose yet another unbelievably epic sampler to wreck musically chaos on the eardrums of fans everywhere. In fact, the only thing that could come close to touching this is the last Fuel sampler. The tracklist:
- Surrogate – “Exercise Machines”
- Living Sacrifice – “Overkill Exposure (Rough Mix)”
- Haste the Day – “68″
- As Cities Burn – “84′ Sheepdog”
- Children 18:3 – “All My Balloons”
- FM Static – “Boy Moves To A New Town With Optimistic Outlook”
- Thousand Foot Krutch – “Bring Me To Life”
- Emery – “Cutthroat Collapse”
- Ivoryline – “Days End”
- mewithoutYou – “Every Thought A Thought of You”
- The Crucified – “The Pit”
- MxPx – “Punk Rock Girl”
- The Ascendicate – “Scottish”
- Oh, Sleeper – “Son of the Morning”
- August Burns Red – “Thirty and Seven”
- Becoming The Archetype – “Dichotomy”
- Copeland – “The Grey Man”
- Hawk Nelson – “Let’s Dance (Dojo Dominating Remix)”
- Showbread – “Nothing Matters Anymore”
- MyChildren MyBride – “On The Wings of Integrity”
- Neon Horse – “Strange Town”
- Corey Crowder – “Look How Far We’ve Come”
- Trenches – “Sacrament”
- The Showdown – “[Achilles] The Backbreaker”
- And Then There Were None – “Reinventing Robert Cohn”
- Family Force 5 – “Fever”
- Jonezetta – “Sick In The Teeth”
- Since October – “Guilty”
- The Chariot – “Daggers”
- Underoath – “Desperate Times, Desperate Measures”
- Secret & Whisper – “Anchors (Acoustic)”
If that doesn’t get you pumped up for this, I don’t know what will. Well, besides the fact that the Showbread and Oh, Sleeper songs are brand new, never-before-heard. They aren’t even on MySpace yet. Extremely epic, and a must-have.
Of course, that’s not to say that it’s perfect. The cover art is a little creepy, and the website mentions a song from The Almost, which wasn’t in my .zip file. I won’t be surprised if there’s an update with the song in it soon enough. Even so, those are minor details. Get this, right, now. Seriously. Do it. Now:
-Tooth & Nail/Solid States’s Fuel Sampler-
Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I’m totally digging the Children 18:3, FM Static, and Ivoryline right now, great stuff, and I’m not nearly through the sampler yet. What are your favorite songs?
Brand New Tooth and Nail / Solid State Sampler

This could very well be the biggest news in free music since MyFreeMusicFriday.com shut down. Only this time, it’s good news.
Tooth and Nail and Solid State Records have teamed up again to create the ultimate free sampler once again. (The last one was the Hey! sampler, last year.) This time, it’s full of free new and unreleased songs from the latest and greatest artists on Tooth and Nail. To save time, I’ll just post the track listing. It speaks for itself.
- Children 18:3 – “LCM”
- The Classic Crime – “Abracadavers”
- Underoath – “In Regards To Myself (Live)”
- Capital Lights – “Outrage!”
- Ivoryline – “Be Still and Breathe”
- Sever Your Ties – “Captive”
- August Burns Reds – “Composure”
- Secret and Whisper – “XOXOXO”
- MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE – “HEADSHOT!”
- Oh, Sleeper – “Vices Like Vipers”
- Inhale Exhale – “I Needed A Spaceship (Instead I Got Problems)”
- Destroy the Runner – “Mr. & Mrs. Cuckoldom”
- Emery – “The Party Song”
- MxPx – “Shut It Down”
- The Becoming – “I Cry”
- Anberlin – “The Haunting”
- Demon Hunter – “Storm the Gates of Hell”
- Once Nothing – “The Dust of A Town”
- The Famine – “Scar the Earth”
- Advent – “Blackout”
- The Chariot – “And Shot Each Other”
- Soul Embraced – “Curtain of Deceit”
- Showbread – “The Pig”
- Search the City – “Son of a Gun”
- Family Force 5- “Fever”
- Run Kid Run – “Captives Come Home”
- Far-less – “A Toast To Bad Taste”
- Norma Jean – “Robots 3 Humans 0″
You can get all of the mp3s for free, in one .zip file, just by entering your name, email, and country of residence at the website. Tooth and Nail will them email you the link for the sampler.
Standout tracks are Anberlin’s “The Haunting”, which is a hauntingly beautiful Cities b-side, Capital Lights’ “Outrage!”, which is so unbelievable happy and catchy, it should be a controlled substance. Capital Lights is one of the best power-pop bands I’ve ever heard, and a must-hear for Hello Kelly and Eleventyseven fans.
For hardcore fans, “Vices Like Vipers” by new hardcore band Oh, Sleeper, is amazing. Tons of lyrical depth, plenty of screaming, eerie choruses, the works. And you can’t go wrong with Demon Hunter, Norma Jean, The Chariot, Inhale Exhale, and August Burns Red.
Actually, most of the songs on this are must-hear. Packed with new and old songs, this is one sampler you don’t want to miss. After all, it’s free!
3 Free Songs from Emery
Free music today from Emery. You can get three songs from the band, “Walls”, “The Ponytail Parade”, and “To Whom It May Concern”, for free from the band’s Purevolume profile.
The songs are all early ones, from Emery’s first album The Weak’s End. All three songs are definitely emo, with screams as a contrast force. The end result is passionate, tragic, rainy-day, tears-slowly-fall rock and roll.

One other thing, if you want to copy the list and use it on your blog, Myspace, Facebook, etc, go ahead. Spread the weirdness. All I ask is that you link back to The Free Christian Music Blog (http://www.thefreechristianmusicblog.com).
X2008 (With Free Music)
Spend all of your Christmas money yet? If you haven’t, I’ve got a way to make it go farther.
If you buy the first printing of X2008, the new Christian rock compilation, you could get a “New Rock Sampler”, with 15 new song, free with your purchase. (You can tell it’s the first version by looking for a little sticker on the packaging, say it’s got the sampler.)
The new rock sampler has some of newest and coolest bands and songs, including:
- Dizmas – “Play It Safe”
- Our Hearts Hero – “Tomorrow”
- Emery – “The Party Song”
- Mainstay – “Becoming Who You Are”
- Newworldson – “Working Man”
- Spoken – “History Erased”
- Project 86 – “Evil (A Chorus of Resistance)”
- The Send – “An Epiphany”
- A Dream Too Late – “14th and Knott”
- This Beautiful Republic – “Going Under”
- Ruth – “You Are”
- Wavorly – “Madmen”
- Stephanie Smith – “Superstar”
- Nevertheless – “Live Like We’re Alive”
- KJ-52 featuring Toby Morrel from Emery – “Wake Up”
To claim the music, you need to put the CD in your computer and visit the site listed on the card. They’ll ask you for a email address. Once you put that in, you can download all the songs.
The X2008 CD itself is a good collection of songs, not perfect (compilations never are), but worth the money in my opinion.
(or you could just buy it at your local Christian bookstore)
