Family Force 5
Free Switchfoot, Family Force 5, Leeland, & More!

I’ve got some very exciting free music news to share today… “Mess of Me” anyone? That’s right, Switchfoot’s latest hit “Mess of Me” is available for free, plus several other great songs. The list:
- Leeland – “Count Me In”
- Underoath – “Writing On The Walls”
- Rapture Ruckus – “One”
- Hillsong United – “No Reason to Hide”
- Parachute Band – “Shout It Out”
- Family Force 5 – “Dance or Die (The Secret Handshake Remix)”
- Falling Up – “Streams of Woe at Acheron”
- And of course, Switchfoot’s “Mess of Me”
All eight songs can be yours, for free, thanks to Parachute Festival (the New Zealand equivalent of Creation or Cornerstone Festival.) You do need to sign up for the Parachute Festival’s website to download the songs, and you can only download each song once, but the music is great, and it’s free. Definitely worth checking out. Enjoy!
Get Your Back Off The Wall!

Free music today from Family Force 5, one of the craziest and funnest bands in Christian music these days. The band is giving away a remixed version of “Get Your Back Off The Wall” from their new remix album Dance Or Die With A Vengeance through their Purevolume profile. Check it out!
-Family Force 5 on Purevolume-
Note: The band who actually remixed the track, 3oh!3, isn’t a Christian band, but since all they did was remix the original track, it’s still clean & very Family Force 5. Just so you know.
Fuel Returns (And Matt’s Head Explodes)
It’s true – Tooth & Nail and Solid State Records have let loose yet another unbelievably epic sampler to wreck musically chaos on the eardrums of fans everywhere. In fact, the only thing that could come close to touching this is the last Fuel sampler. The tracklist:
- Surrogate – “Exercise Machines”
- Living Sacrifice – “Overkill Exposure (Rough Mix)”
- Haste the Day – “68″
- As Cities Burn – “84′ Sheepdog”
- Children 18:3 – “All My Balloons”
- FM Static – “Boy Moves To A New Town With Optimistic Outlook”
- Thousand Foot Krutch – “Bring Me To Life”
- Emery – “Cutthroat Collapse”
- Ivoryline – “Days End”
- mewithoutYou – “Every Thought A Thought of You”
- The Crucified – “The Pit”
- MxPx – “Punk Rock Girl”
- The Ascendicate – “Scottish”
- Oh, Sleeper – “Son of the Morning”
- August Burns Red – “Thirty and Seven”
- Becoming The Archetype – “Dichotomy”
- Copeland – “The Grey Man”
- Hawk Nelson – “Let’s Dance (Dojo Dominating Remix)”
- Showbread – “Nothing Matters Anymore”
- MyChildren MyBride – “On The Wings of Integrity”
- Neon Horse – “Strange Town”
- Corey Crowder – “Look How Far We’ve Come”
- Trenches – “Sacrament”
- The Showdown – “[Achilles] The Backbreaker”
- And Then There Were None – “Reinventing Robert Cohn”
- Family Force 5 – “Fever”
- Jonezetta – “Sick In The Teeth”
- Since October – “Guilty”
- The Chariot – “Daggers”
- Underoath – “Desperate Times, Desperate Measures”
- Secret & Whisper – “Anchors (Acoustic)”
If that doesn’t get you pumped up for this, I don’t know what will. Well, besides the fact that the Showbread and Oh, Sleeper songs are brand new, never-before-heard. They aren’t even on MySpace yet. Extremely epic, and a must-have.
Of course, that’s not to say that it’s perfect. The cover art is a little creepy, and the website mentions a song from The Almost, which wasn’t in my .zip file. I won’t be surprised if there’s an update with the song in it soon enough. Even so, those are minor details. Get this, right, now. Seriously. Do it. Now:
-Tooth & Nail/Solid States’s Fuel Sampler-
Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I’m totally digging the Children 18:3, FM Static, and Ivoryline right now, great stuff, and I’m not nearly through the sampler yet. What are your favorite songs?
Free Music from Falling Up, Dizmas, and Family Force 5
Christian rock fans rejoice, this is the post for you. Well, the second post for you, after this one. Three songs, no matter how good, can’t really compare to over 25. Anyway, I have three can’t-miss free mp3s today from a new website called NOTW (Not of This World). They are actually a Christian clothing wholesaler, selling T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.
Anyway, I’m getting off-topic. The site has three free downloads, “Play It Safe”, by Dizmas, “Never Let Me Go”, by Family Force 5, and “Good Morning Planetarium”, by Falling Up.
All three are amazing songs, and I’d highly recommend them all. Even more exciting is that the site says there will be new songs monthly.
Before I close this off, I wanted to say something about “Good Morning Planetarium”. The song is all about brokenness, followed by hope in Christ, then, a call to anyone else who’s feeling “cold and incomplete inside”. I would like to echo Falling Up. If you ever need someone to talk to about problems, or life in general, I’m always available. I can’t promise to have all the answers, but I know Who does. I know having someone like that was and is really helpful in my life, so, if you ever need someone to talk to, you can email me or try and catch me on Google Talk. Either way, freechristianmusicblog@gmail.com.
Brand New Tooth and Nail / Solid State Sampler

This could very well be the biggest news in free music since MyFreeMusicFriday.com shut down. Only this time, it’s good news.
Tooth and Nail and Solid State Records have teamed up again to create the ultimate free sampler once again. (The last one was the Hey! sampler, last year.) This time, it’s full of free new and unreleased songs from the latest and greatest artists on Tooth and Nail. To save time, I’ll just post the track listing. It speaks for itself.
- Children 18:3 – “LCM”
- The Classic Crime – “Abracadavers”
- Underoath – “In Regards To Myself (Live)”
- Capital Lights – “Outrage!”
- Ivoryline – “Be Still and Breathe”
- Sever Your Ties – “Captive”
- August Burns Reds – “Composure”
- Secret and Whisper – “XOXOXO”
- MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE – “HEADSHOT!”
- Oh, Sleeper – “Vices Like Vipers”
- Inhale Exhale – “I Needed A Spaceship (Instead I Got Problems)”
- Destroy the Runner – “Mr. & Mrs. Cuckoldom”
- Emery – “The Party Song”
- MxPx – “Shut It Down”
- The Becoming – “I Cry”
- Anberlin – “The Haunting”
- Demon Hunter – “Storm the Gates of Hell”
- Once Nothing – “The Dust of A Town”
- The Famine – “Scar the Earth”
- Advent – “Blackout”
- The Chariot – “And Shot Each Other”
- Soul Embraced – “Curtain of Deceit”
- Showbread – “The Pig”
- Search the City – “Son of a Gun”
- Family Force 5- “Fever”
- Run Kid Run – “Captives Come Home”
- Far-less – “A Toast To Bad Taste”
- Norma Jean – “Robots 3 Humans 0″
You can get all of the mp3s for free, in one .zip file, just by entering your name, email, and country of residence at the website. Tooth and Nail will them email you the link for the sampler.
Standout tracks are Anberlin’s “The Haunting”, which is a hauntingly beautiful Cities b-side, Capital Lights’ “Outrage!”, which is so unbelievable happy and catchy, it should be a controlled substance. Capital Lights is one of the best power-pop bands I’ve ever heard, and a must-hear for Hello Kelly and Eleventyseven fans.
For hardcore fans, “Vices Like Vipers” by new hardcore band Oh, Sleeper, is amazing. Tons of lyrical depth, plenty of screaming, eerie choruses, the works. And you can’t go wrong with Demon Hunter, Norma Jean, The Chariot, Inhale Exhale, and August Burns Red.
Actually, most of the songs on this are must-hear. Packed with new and old songs, this is one sampler you don’t want to miss. After all, it’s free!
Song Combat Results: Family Force 5
And the winner is…. Family Force 5!
Though it was a close fight, the boys from the dirty south managed to grab the win. “Never Let Me Go” is one of three new songs from Business Up Front, Party In The Back: Diamond Edition, the special extended version of the groups debut. “Never Let Me Go” is a crunk rock song about how God will “never ever never let me go”. Also, “death can’t shake me from You’re hand”.
You can get it free from C28, a Christian web store. All they ask in return is your name and your email address. If you don’t opt-in for the email updates, you’ll never get a email from them at all. No spam at all.
Quick Announcement
I’ve decided to make a minor change in my posting schedule here at The Free Christian Music Blog. From now on, I’m going to be taking a “day of rest” from posting on Sunday. It will give me a little more free time, which is good, and a little less stress, which is also good.
One last thing: Somehow, Family Force 5 just shot past Disciple in Song Combat. Disciple fans had better rally, because they are behind by 10. At time of writing, anyway.
Song Combat: Disciple Vs. Family Force 5
[Song Combat]
Disciple – “The Wait is Over”
vs.
Family Force 5 – “Never Let Me Go”
This could very well be the most evenly matched Song Combat I’ve done yet. Hard-hitting Christian rock staple Disciple vs. the southern phenomenon Family Force 5. It’s gonna be close…
First, in case you aren’t familiar with Song Combat, let me explain. It’s something I thought of to help get your opinion on the music I feature. You vote for your favorite song in the poll on the TFCMB homepage.
Then, the winner gets featured (meaning you get the song), and the loser doesn’t. In fact, the loser get put in a special folder, deep inside my Firefox bookmarks, where it will stay until I decide to rescue it. Since that’s a bad thing, you’ll want to make sure you vote!
For those not familiar with Disciple, they are a Christian hard rock band. I lost track of how many CDs they’ve released, but it’s a lot. Rather then writing any more of a description, I’m going to send you to Disciple’s Purevolume, where you can listen to a couple songs and grab a free copy of another song, “Scars Remain”.
Family Force 5 is pure energy, with a quirky sense of humor, and a love of dancing. They are also Christians. This song (“Never Let Me Go”) in particular, is an example of how they can write very creative, heart-felt, songs, while still rockin’ like crazy. I’m not sure what else to say.
Family Force 5 "Never Let Me Go"
As promised, here’s my review of Family Force 5’s newest music video, “Never Let Me Go”, which debuted yesterday on TVU Music Television:To be totally honest, when the video ended, I was disappointed. Before you stop reading, let me explain. I was expecting something like “Love Addict” or “Kountry Gentleman”. You know, raw crunk-rock. The animal-headed-humanoids just wasn’t what I was expecting.
However, since yesterday, I’ve decided that the video really was pretty cool. The song is one of my all-time favorites, the funky camera trick was pretty cool, and what I thought was a deep moral point was really Family Force 5 being their usual random selves. And the last last twenty seconds are just awesome. All told, I’d give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
Now that you know what I think, it’s time for you to tell me what you thought. Please, leave a comment with your 2 cents. Tell me I’m wrong. Tell me it’s “2 kwl and ff5 = g8t”. Just say something!

FreeFuge.com, New Music Video from Family Force 5
Free music from FreeFuge.com today. They have a page on their website specially for free music, and to be blunt, it’s awesome. It looks like the selection is a mix of songs from FreeGotee.com and FreeMvS.com, with a little Sparrow Records thrown in. Of course, that’s not saying much unless you know which bands are on which labels. So, I’ll explain the selection.
It feature’s Ayiesha Woods’ “Happy”, Bethany Dillon’s “Top of the World”, Britt Nicole’s current single “Set The World On Fire”, Family Force 5’s “Supersonic”, John Reuben’s catchy “Good Evening”, Relient K’s “More Than Useless”, Sanctus Real’s number one hit “Don’t Give Up”, the southern rock “Temptation Come My Way” from The Showdown. Also featured is This Beautiful Republic’s new single “Casting Off”, Vicky Beeching, and Tim Hughes. (Oh, and they also have Chasing Victory listed, but the download doesn’t work.)
As you can see, that’s quite a selection. All of the songs are free and legal downloads. So enjoy!
