The Weekly Downloads: Nov. 3 ~ Nov. 9

Anther week, another batch of downloads – some really good ones too!  :)

Without a doubt, the biggest free download this week is from Steven Curtis Chapman.  You can download his latest single, “Heaven Is the Face”, from Tangle.com.  It’s an amazing, beautiful song, enough said.  Don’t miss it.

-Tangle.com-

Though it can’t top “Heaven Is The Face”, iTickets does have two good song available for free this week, Paul Baloche’s song “Glorious” and Kelly Clinger’s song “What You See In Me”.

Next up, if you like your music a little louder, VideoRocket has the debut music video for new Tooth & Nail band The Letter Black.  It’s for the song “Hanging By A Thread”, and it’s pretty cool.  Check it out!

It’s hard to believe Christmas is coming up so fast, but it is, and Gospel Music Channel has the Christmas music to prove it – specifically, Ayiesha Woods’ version of “Jingle Bells”.  As it turns out, Ayiesha actually has whole Christmas album coming out, called Christmas Like This, a play off her last album’s title, Love Like This:)

Here’s something new:  FreeCCM.com has totally updated their website!  It’s now a blog-type format, with new downloads every week.  They’ve got three weeks worth of downloads up right now, with songs from Todd Agnew, Fee, and The Afters – some pretty cool stuff.  You do need to sign up for the website again, even if you were signed up previously.

Last, but definitely not least this week, New Release Tuesday has a new song by Plumb.  It’s called “Hold On”, and it’s one of the new tracks from Plumb’s latest greatest hits collection, entitled Beautiful History.  I’m pretty excited about Beautiful History myself, primarily because it has two disks, the second of which is full of remixes.  Very cool stuff indeed!

The Weekly Downloads: Oct. 13 ~ Oct. 19

Matt Maher Alive Again

It’s that time again!  This week is going to be a little easier to cover then last week, since there are far fewer free songs this week – which is a little disappointing.   Oh well, there’s always another day, another batch of downloads…

First up this week, iTickets has two free songs from Out of Eden, with “Rolling Stone”, and Matt Maher’s fantastic song “Alive Again”.  I’m really digging Matt’s voice in this song, I really like it, and if you don’t have it yet, definitely grab it for free now.

Another great song that’s free this week is Fee’s new song, “Arms that Hold the Universe”.  It’s from Fee’s brand new CD, and you can download it from Tangle.com:

Satellites & Sirens All We Need Is Sound

Last but not least, you can get a free copy of Satellites & Sirens’ video for “Take Me Back” from VideoRocket.  The video is pretty cool, and while you’re at VideoRocket, you can also watch the debut of the band’s brand new music video for the song “Breaking the Noise”.  Check the out here, and download “Take Me Back” below.

3 Weekly Downloads, Plus J.S. Album Drops

This week, I thought I would save sometime and just write up all three weekly downloads at the same time, thus giving myself more freedom later in the week.  The result:

  • Weekly Download #1:  20 The Countdown Magazine has added a brand new song by the band Fee!  It’s called “All Creation Sings (Joy to The World)”, and looks decidedly Christmas-y.  For the download, look in the left sidebar.  The download is the top banner.
-20 The Countdown Magazine-
  • Weekly Download #2:  Gospel Music Channel has got a free download this week from Attaboy, a group I’ve never heard before.  In my opinion, they sounds a lot like Rush of Fools.  Grab their song “Califoria”, below.

-Gospel Music Channel-

  • Weekly Download #3:  iTicket’s has added not one, not two, but THREE free songs to their website for the week.  They’re got songs by This Beautiful Republic, Parachute Band, and Jim Brickman.  Enjoy!

-iTicket’s Free Music Page-

Plus, on top of all that, Jonathan Steingard’s new solo release Under the Canopy was released yesterday.  You may remember the free EP he released a while ago, the Atlantis EP?  Well, the full length looks like it’s even better then the that.  It’s not free, but at $8.99, it’s worth it.  You can purchase it, plus download the free EP, on his website, here.
Oh, by the way, Jonathan Steingard is Hawk Nelson’s guitarist.  Pretty awesome.

Song Combat Results: Tie?!?

I’ve got some bad news for you. No one won the Song Combat this time. But, hey, no one lost either! :) Thus, I’d decided to give you both the link to The Famine as well as the link to Fee. Alas, when I went get the link to The Famine, I discovered that they’d removed the song since last saw the page. You can still listen to the song, but you can’t download it. Major disappointment.

However, I did go ahead and find another hardcore alternative to The Famine. There’s a band called Beloved (you may have heard of them) who has two songs available for free on their Purevolume. The songs, “Aimless Endeavor” and “Death to Traitors” aren’t exactly the same style, but it’s the best I could do short notice.

Song Combat: The Famine Vs. Fee

[Song Combat]
The Famine – “Fading Glory”
vs.
Fee – “Burn For You”

Song Combat time again! This time around, I’m pitting hardcore band The Famine against worship band Fee. As usual, you can support your favorite song by voting for it in the poll to the right.

The Famine was formed out of the RIP band Embodyment. They have a new CD coming out in May, and will be touring this summer with Demon Hunter, Living Sacrifice, and Oh, Sleeper, on the Stronger then Hell tour.

Fee is a new worship band on INO Records. Closest musical cousin would be David Crowder*Band. You may have heard “All Because of Jesus” on your local Christian radio station. They are one of my new favorites.

Voting starts right now! Remember, winning song will be feature here on The Free Christian Music Blog, while the loser gets archived, never to see light of day…

Stephanie Smith and Fee

Almost before I posted my last post (about FreeCCM.com), they updated. Now, for one week only, you can also get a new song from Fee. They just updated the site today, so it’s fresh.

Also, FreeGotee.com added a new song from new artist Stephanie Smith. It’s called “Superstar”, and it’s from her new CD, Not Afraid. I had the opportunity to listen to the song before this (see next post) and it really stood out. Very catchy, very energetic. Try it, hey, after all it’s free.
