Me In Motion
The Weekly Downloads: Feb. 23 ~ Mar. 1
Kicking off this week’s batch of downloads, Starfield has their song “Rediscover You” featured on both New Release Tuesday and iTickets’ this week, it’s from the band’s latest The Saving One. I haven’t heard the song just yet, but based on what I know of the band, and the album art (which is great), I’d say this is one song to check out.
One of the more exciting downloads this week is from Stellar Kart – FreeCCM has got the title track from the band’s latest, Everything Is Different Now available for download this. Stellar Kart was the band that first got me into Christian rock (“Life is good, eternal life is better!”), so you can believe I was exciting about getting this free. Check it out!

Next up, VideoRocket has a free download of the trailer for the new movie The Imposter. It’s not exactly music, but since the film stars Kevin Max & Jeff Deyo, I think it’s fits here. I’ve yet to see the trailer, so you’ll have to investigate for yourself.

Rounding out the list tonight, Tangle.com has Me In Motion’s song “Gotta Be Something” and GMC has Newworldson’s “You Set The Rhythm”, both of which have been available several places before, but in the event you haven’t pick up either song yet, definitely go for it.
Free Song from Me In Motion + CD Giveaway
Word up! I just found out that my friend Tyler (who runs the website ChristianMusicZine.com) is currently running a Me In Motion contest on his site.
Three winners will get a copy of Me In Motion’s new self-titled debut, and anyone interested can download Me In Motion’s song “Gotta Be Something”. It’s a great pop/rock tune that leans a little bit more to the rock side of the spectrum, I’d recommend it. Enjoy!
The Weekly Downloads: Feb. 2 ~ Feb. 8
Gospel Music Channel has had a pretty big week – on Tuesday, they officially changed their name from “Gospel Music Channel” to just “GMC”. Thankfully, the name changed hasn’t affect their weekly free download, with this week’s free song being Israel Houghton’s “The Power of One (Change the World)”. It’s a slow, soulful track, not really my style, but hey, it’s free, so I’m not complaining.

Also available this week are Stephanie Smith’s “Heart Attack” from iTickets and Laura Story’s “What A Savior” (straight off the new Catalyst Music Project album) from New Release Tuesday. “Heart Attack” is from Stephanie’s new self-titled EP, and (in my opinion), definitely something to check out. Not Afraid, Stephanie’s debut, was definitely on the pop side of pop/rock, but from what I’ve heard of the new EP, it’s very much on the rock side of the spectrum, almost along the lines of Paramore. I like it.
And available from FreeCCM this week is Phillips, Craig, & Dean’s “Counting On God”, track #1 from the trio’s latest Fearless. Honestly, it didn’t sound much like the Phillips, Craig, & Dean that I’ve known, but it’s still quite the decent song, and I’m glad I got it. Check it out:

Rounding out the week is the new band Me In Motion, whose debut video for their song “Losers” is being featured this week as a free download on VideoRocket. I saw the video for the first time on GMC yesterday, and caught myself singing the song hours later – it’s worth getting if you ask me.

And that’s it for the Weekly Downloads this week, not a lot of music available, but it’s all fairly good stuff, so I’m not complaining.
Welcome to the Month of Rocktober
…Or so claims HearItFirst’s latest promotion, sponsored by Guitar Praise, which features 13 rockin’ Christian artists for the month of October. Through the Rocktober page at HearItFirst, you can download free songs from Me In Motion, SONSOFDAY, Dreampilots, Stryper (!), Unhindered, Canopy Red, Manic Drive, and Two Cent Offering, not to mention a contest to win Guitar Praise and CDs from all 13 bands.
To download the songs, click on the artist’s banner on the Rocktober page, then look for the free download banner on the different artist pages (on the left, to be specific). I have to say, despite most of the bands being under-the-radar or unsigned, it’s a pretty impressive bunch of songs. Me In Motion was on new band that impressed me, and it was good to hear new music from SONSOFDAY, and then of course there’s Stryper, which is in a class of it’s own.
All around, if you like Christian rock (from the lighter side to the hard rock side), don’t miss this.
