The Weekly Downloads: Mar. 2 ~ Mar. 8
First up this week, New Release Tuesday has not one but two cool new downloads, from Pocket Full of Rocks, and Satellites & Sirens. The songs are “Jesus Died My Soul To Save” and “Anchor”, respectively. “Jesus Died My Soul To Save” actually has a bit of a folk/country vibe, while “Anchor” is a pop/rock jam, but their both pretty good.
Next, iTickets has a free download of “Revolution”, from Bryon “Mr. Talkbox” Chambers. That’s the same Mr. Talkbox from TobyMac’s Portable Sounds, to give just one example of his work. “Revolution” is from Bryon’s new solo album, My Time.
Another new song available this week is Karima Kibble’s song “So Happy”, from GMC. In fact, the music video for “So Happy” has been doing quite well on the GMC charts, where’s currently residing at #5, beating Switchfoot by one.

Rounding out this week’s line-up is “Be Mine”, from VOTA – you can snag the mp3 of that from FreeCCM.
Till next time…
The Weekly Downloads: Feb. 9 ~ Feb. 15
It’s been a pretty fair week for free music, with good songs, but several repeats. Despite that, there’s still a few new songs, like Vicky Beeching’s “Blessing And Honor” available from iTickets, and Chris Rice’s “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” at FreeCCM. I haven’t heard a chance to listen to either yet, so you’ll have discover them for yourself.
-Chris Rice’s “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” on FreeCCM-
Also available is VOTA’s catchy song “Be Mine” from GMC, Laura Story’s “What A Savior” from Tangle, and the rockin’ title track from Fireflight’s latest, For Those Who Wait, available from New Release Tuesday. Enjoy!
Free Album from Vota
Yes, you read that right – there’s a full album available from Vota, for free! It’s called the Special Edition Digital Album, a rather long name for a collection of 8 new, old, and rare Vota songs, many of which were originally released under Vota’s old moniker, Casting Pearls.
You can download the whole thing for free, in return for your email address and zip code. Also worth mention, the download is being sponsored by a website called 411God, a rather interesting service that delivers the Bible direct to your phone, daily.
Anyway, if you like Vota, Casting Pearls, or just Christian rock in general, this definitely something you’re going to want to check out. Enjoy!
The Weekly Downloads: Nov. 10 ~ 17
Wow, another week has come and gone – and with it, another nice long list of free song downloads. Actually, I’m quite happy with this week’s selection, especially the Vota download – “Honestly” might honestly be the best song I’ve heard from them. Anyway, let’s get this party started!
First up, an artist I know lots of people will be excited about: Skillet! FreeCCM.com has their song “It’s Not Me It’s You” available now, and it’s aggressive, loud, rocking, & well, it’s Skillet.
-Skillet’s “It’s Not Me It’s You” on FreeCCM-
Gospel Music Channel actually has two new songs this week (either that, or I’m just a week behind, I’m not sure.) Either way though, you can download the radio edit of Byron Cage’s song “Faithful to Believe” and Claude Deuce’s Christmas song “Every Day Is Christmas” for free.
-Byron Cage & “Faithful to Believe”-
-Claude Deuce & “Everyday Is Christmas”-
Speaking of Christmas music, iTicket’s has Kari Jobe’s song “Adore Him” from the Christmas compilation Worship And Adore: A Christmas Offering, plus a free song from Josh Wilson’s new EP, a whimsical love song called “How to Fall”. Both a well worth downloading if you ask me.

If you don’t have Sara Groves’ new song “Different Kinds of Happy” yet, you’ve got another chance to download it this week from New Release Tuesday. I don’t know about you, but I really like the artwork for Sara’s new album, somehow, it fits.

As I mentioned earlier, Vota’s song “Honestly” is one of the downloads available this week for free, and it’s my favorite of all the available songs. It’s a slow, piano driven song, it’s just open, and raw, and honest, and beautiful. I highly recommend this one.

Wrapping it up with week, VideoRocket has a free download of KJ-52′s latest, “He Did That”, which happens to feature some of the best breaking dancing I’ve seen in a long time. I wish I could do that…

Music Video Fame & Free Music

Who wants to be famous! Who wants free music? Who likes Vota? You? Great! Today is your lucky day! How? Read on!
Vota (a band formerly know as Casting Pearls) and Gospel Music Channel have teemed up to give you (yes, YOU) a chance at fame & glory by directing and filming a music video for Vota’s song “I’ll Go”. Upload your video to Tangle, send Gospel Music Channel the link, and your video just might end up being aired on GMC!
Personally, I’m a huge music video geek, and the very thought of a contest like this gets me excited. Of course, if you’re the sort of person who’d rather not lip sync in front of your friends, much less thousands of viewers on TV, you can still download “I’ll Go” (which also happens to be a pretty good song) for free from Gospel Music Channel.
Either way, you can link up below. Just as a bonus, if you do make a video, shoot me an email (or tweet, or comment, or smoke signal…) with a link to your video, and I’ll see about featuring it on TFCMB. I’d love to see what you all come up with.
Free Christian Music updates
Today is Tuesday, and every Tuesday several different sites update music downloads. NewReleaseTuesday.com and iTickets.com both update their sites for free music. Tangle.com and GospelMusicChannel.com also both update their sites for a free download weekly, but that sometimes happens around Tuesday-Friday. As well as those sites, FreeCCM.com, NOTW.com and MusicChristian.com also updates their free downloads every now and then (usually monthly). I advise that all of you put all these links in your bookmarks and check them every so often so that you don’t miss any free music, just in case if we don’t feature them.
Anyway, NewReleaseTuesday seems to keep up one song up for two weeks. They have “My Last Amen” by Downhere (also on JesusFreakHideout.com) and “Life Light Up” by Christy Nockels. “Life Light Up” was featured previously on her website, but that download is no longer available. It is available on Amazon.com as well.
iTickets has songs by Aieysha Woods, Brad and Rebekah Bichsel, and Misty Edwards. I have not heard of the last two artists until iTickets have featured them, but I do know Aieysha Woods. Both of the latter artists both seem to be worship artists, so if you’re worship music, be sure to get those at iTickets this week.
- iTickets.com-
Tangle is featuring Travis Cottrell, a worship leader, on their homepage. You can pick up his song “To The King” on Tangle’s homepage. This was the download from last week, so you might want to pick this one up ASAP.
-Travis Cottrell on Tangle.com-
The GospelMusicChannel has a free download weekly. Most of the songs are from some artists I’ve never heard of, but lately they’ve had some good stuff from well known artists (Hillsong United, Jonny Diaz, Israel Houghton, Philmont, and Abandon). Currently, they have a song from the band VOTA, formerly known as Casting Pearls. They had changed their name to reduce confusion between them and the ever-so popular Casting Crowns. The song is ‘I’ll Go’, and it is currently their single on Christian Contemporary Hit Radio music charts (Christian CHR). It’s a very catchy-upbeat song that I hope you’ll like.
-“I’ll Go” by VOTA on GospelMusicChannel.com-
FreeCCM has a couple of free songs by Addison Road, Jonny Diaz, Chris Rice, Skillet, and Darlene Zschech. I don’t know how many songs I’ve gotten from Addison Road, Skillet, and Chris Rice on FreeCCM. I’ve almost completed Addison Road’s entire album thanks to free downloads. Anyway, FreeCCM might be updating their site soon, since it seems like change out songs monthly. Be sure you pick those up soon.
Not Of This World, abbreviated as NOTW, is a good source of some more alternative Christian rock music. They usually update their site monthly, but they have not had any new songs up for over a month and a half. Anyway, they have “Back To The Five” by Ruth and “Providence” by Abandon (also on Tangle.com/abandontx)
-Notw.com-
Last but certainly not least, MusicChristian.com has free downloads every so often it seems. Previously, they had “Fill This Place” by Press Play and Lanae’ Hale’s Back and Forth. Today, they have three free songs from new artist Tal & Acacia, a pop sister- duo from Portland, Oregon.
Songs from Phil Joel, Vota, and (Maybe) Willet
While I was working on yesterday’s post about Remedy Drive, I discovered several more downloads on the same site. The songs are: “Free to Fail” by Vota, “Shout”, by Phil Joel, and possibly a download from Willet.
There’s actually some serious Newsboys ties with the music here. Vota is the new name of Casting Pearls, a band started by an former Newsboys member. Phil Joel is also former Newsboys, and is now pursueing a solo career. And Willet.. doesn’t have anything to do with the Newsboys.
About the Willet download, on the feature page it has a title that says “Free Download”. The problem is there’s nothing there. Lower on the page is a large picture that promises free stuff and links to Willet’s website. Unfortunately, said site is down. So, there’s nothing available at the moment. I’m going to be keeping an eye out though, you never know.
Update: Evidently the download was there the whole time, and AdBlock Plus had blocked the banner. So make sure you grab the song.
Update: Just as I was about to publish this, I found yet another free download on the same site. This time it’s Worth Dying For, a new Christian rock worship band. You can grab a copy of “Unite” for free.
