FAQ

Question: Is this legal?
Answer: Yes!  If there’s a download I’m not sure about, I won’t post it.  I work hard to verify that everything I post about is legal.  I know, it’s awesome. 😉

Question: Are the songs, like, actually free?
Answer: Yep. It wouldn’t be free if you had to pay for it, would it? Sometimes, you’ll be asked to give your email address or sign-up for a mailing list, or other information, but everything is free, unless otherwise labeled.

Question: Is downloading music online safe?
Answer: Usually. Everything on this site should be perfectly safe.

Question: Why did the chicken cross the road?
Answer: You know, I really don’t know. I just threw that in to see if you are paying attention. 😉

Question: Can my music (or my friend’s music) get featured here?
Answer: Sure! The only requirements is the artist is a believer and the music needs to be consistent with the Christian worldview, and there has to be at least one song that folks can download for free. It should go without saying, but please don’t submit anything you’re not proud of.  We’re fairly picky when it comes to music to feature, so make sure to put your best foot forward.  If you are interested, you can email your music to:  freechristianmusicblog(at)gmail(dot)com.  Also, please don’t sent YouTube videos – that’s not what this site is for, and it’s a waste of my time and yours.

Question:  I emailed and I never heard back.  What did I do wrong?
Answer:  Odds are, nothing.  The site just get a lot of email, and while I read everything I receive, I usually don’t have time to reply to everyone.  Please don’t take it personally – we really do like you a lot.

Question: How do you decide if a band is Christian?
Answer: That’s a good question.  It’s not easy sometimes.  Generally, the basic rule is if 1. the band is marketed to Christians or 2. the band members claim to be Christians.  After that, I’ll look at the song lyrics, the band’s website, Wikipedia, interviews, etc, to decide. It’s a complicated business, and TFCMB does reserve the right to not feature any band or song if we so choose.
